A time for friends and family to gather to celebrate the life of Duane C. McGuire was be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 4-7 at Friedrich/Bonnerup Funeral Home in New Richland. A private Memorial Service and interment with Military Honors will be held at St. Olaf Cemetery.
Duane was celebrating Christmas with his family in Missouri when he passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 surrounded by his children.
He was born on August 23, 1944, in Albert Lea, MN, the son of Murrel and Marjorie (Simonson) McGuire. He was confirmed at LeSueur River Lutheran Church and graduated from New Richland High School with the class of 1962.
He proudly served our country in the US Navy from 1964-1968.
His life was blessed with four children who he loved very much, Prycilla, Amanda, Joe and Lisa. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland.

Thomas I. Berg, 63, of Granger, Iowa passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Madrid. Visitation was held on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 3-6 p.m. at the Iles-Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid. Burial was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at the LeSueur River Lutheran Cemetery in New Richland, MN.
Tom was born November 28, 1955, in Minneapolis, MN, son of Sylvan and Lillian (Ausen) Berg. He received his education in New Richland, MN where he graduated from high school in 1974. He then attended carpenter trade school and began working in commercial construction near Rochester and also spent time in Saudi Arabia.
On August 21, 1976, Tom was united in marriage to Wendy Urban at the Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland, MN. They made their home in the Dexter and West Concord, MN where they operated a dairy farm from 1984 to 1996. They then moved to the Madrid-Granger area where he worked as a self-employed home builder.

Funeral services for Alice M. Schlaak will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018 at St Peter Lutheran Church in New Richland, MN. The Reverend Scott Williams will officiate. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St Peter Cemetery, New Richland.
Alice Mae Schlaak passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the New Richland Care Center. She was 92 years of age.
Alice was born in Nicollet, MN, on November 5, 1926 to Edward and Marie (Truebenbach) Rosin. She attended rural country school through the 8th grade and then worked as a housekeeper in a number of homes in Mankato. She eventually moved to Waseca and started work at the E.F. Johnson Co, in the very early stages of its life.

Remembering Roger K. Wayne
Memorial Services for Roger K. Wayne, 92, of Geneva will be held at 10:30 a.m.. on Saturday, December 29, at the Community Lutheran Church in Geneva. The Rev. Dr. Kristen Venne will officiate.
Interment, with Military Honors, will be in Geneva Cemetery in the spring.
Friends may visit with family from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour before services at the church.
Roger died on Sunday, December 23 at Prairie Cottages in New Richland, MN.
He was born on August 15, 1926, Albert Lea, Minnesota the son of Arnold and Edith (Jensen) Wayne.
Roger graduated from Ellendale High School with the Class of 1944. He was united in marriage to Joyce Pestorious on July 1, 1951, sharing 67 years together. Roger was drafted and served in the US Army from 1954-1956.
Farming his whole life, he still enjoyed drives to check on his boys and the status of the crops.

Anna P. Foster, residing at Lake Winona Manor, Winona, MN passed away on December 7, 2018 at the age of 99. Anna was born August 30, 1919 on the family farm in Ellendale, MN.
She was the third of seven daughters born to Harold and Nelsena Ferguson.She attended school and graduated from Ellendale high school in 1937. She then attended and graduated from the Naeve Hospital School of Nursing in Albert Lea, MN in 1941.
She was united in marriage to Fred E. Foster on January 10, 1942 at the United Methodist Church in Ellendale, MN.
Anna was the School Nurse in Babbitt, MN for several years. She and her family were active members of the Presbyterian Church in Babbitt. She enjoyed music and shared that love with her six sisters wherever and whenever they got together. They sang together for years.
Anna also is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Anna is preceded in death by her husband Fred, her parents and sisters Helen, Wanda, Beulah, Alice and a grandson, Geoffrey Foster.
