LeAnn Rosalie Amundson, age 80, of Mankato and formerly of Waldorf, died after a short illness on Friday, January 25, 2019, at Waters Edge in Mankato. 

Funeral Service will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Dennis Heiden officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato.  Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the church, and continues one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.  Arrangements are with Mankato Mortuary.

LeAnn was born November 20, 1938 to Roscoe and Pearl (Monson) Prescher.  LeAnn was a 1956 graduate of Minnesota Lake High School. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Amundson on December 16, 1957, at First Lutheran Church in Wells. LeAnn and her husband farmed near Waldorf until their retirement. LeAnn had a strong Christian faith which led her to teaching Sunday school, VBS, and leading Bible study. She was a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church. LeAnn was very creative and enjoyed making crafts and doing photography. She loved to cook and took pride in the cookbook she published in 2011. She had a love for nature, playing cards, dancing with Lloyd and spending time with family. LeAnn and Lloyd lived their later retirement years in Mankato, at Diamond Creek on Amber Lane. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Bruce Phillip Langlie died peacefully in Charleston, South Carolina on 26 January 2019. He was 76 years old. The third of four children, Bruce was born on March 18, 1942 in Waseca County Hospital to Lloyd and Ila (Olsen) Langlie. He initially attended country school and later graduated from New Richland Hartland High School in 1960.  During high school he worked for Peterson Grocery, Rosenbach Mobile, and Wenzel Standard Station, and enjoyed playing football.

On September 8, 1962 Bruce was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Tukua, his high school sweetheart, at Hartland Lutheran Church. For 35 years they worked together farming, until Ruth Ann’s death in 2009.  For eight of those years they also managed a small farrow-to-finish hog operation. Bruce spent a total of 55 years working farm drainage projects and demolishing old farm sites. For 30 of those years he also owned and operated Langlie Drainage. For nine years, up until 2017, he worked for Brandon Flatness continuing to work on drainage projects.

Bruce loved antique tractors and especially enjoyed joining others on tractor rides and tractor pulls. He enjoyed gardening and giving away the produce to friends. Riding snowmobiles and hunting were also two fun activities he shared with family and friends.

Memorial services for LaVerne P. Blowers will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Friedrich/Bonnerup Funeral Home in New Richland, MN. Visitation will take place beginning at 1:30 until the time of the service. Burial with military honors will follow at LeSueur River Lutheran Cemetery.

LaVerne died on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the New Richland Care Center. He was 79 years old.

LaVerne Paul Blowers was born on January 25, 1939 in Albert Lea, MN to Vernon and Anges (Hogaas) Blowers. He grew up on a farm north of St. Olaf Lake in Steele Co; attending country schools. After 8th grade, he would attend New Richland High School, where he graduated in 1957. Shortly after, he began work at Sampson Dairy delivering milk. On June 12, 1959, he was united in marriage to Barbara Weckwerth. Within months, LaVerne was drafted in the United States Army, serving his country until his honorable discharge.

Once he returned from the military, LaVerne spent 18 years working in the Tool and Die industry for Owatonna Tool.  Other jobs included: Teledyne, HD Hudson, and other various jobs. In his younger years, he also liked to help on the family farm.

Betty Grace Anderson (née Lund), passed away on Monday, January 22 at the Gulf Shores Care Center in Pinellas Park, Florida from complications of Alzheimer’s.

Betty was born to parents Hans and Grace Lund on May 20, 1934 on the Rocky B Ranch, Steele County, MN. She grew up as one of seven siblings and attended Blooming Prairie H.S. In 1954 she married Merlyn J. Anderson of Ellendale and together they had three children.

Betty was a homemaker and later a successful real estate agent. Betty and Merlyn were transferred several times over the years with J.C. Penney throughout the Midwest and she enjoyed renovating and decorating their many homes. She was an accomplished seamstress and creative fabric artist. After her husband’s death in 1980, Betty relocated to Florida and continued her passion for creating whimsical fabric art and decorating.

Adeline Clara Mittelstadt, age 95 of Waseca, died on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Janesville Nursing Home.

Born on her family’s farm in rural Waseca on April 11, 1923, Adeline was the daughter of Herman and Clara (Helms) Mittelstadt.  As a girl she attended District #22 school in rural Waseca.  Adeline spent time working for the E.F. Johnson Company, the Rendezvous restaurant, and at the canning factory in Waseca before making the decision to attain her GED and attend Faribault Vocational School where she studied nursing.  She then spent over fifteen years working as an LPN at Methodist Hospital in Rochester.  She enjoyed traveling, dancing, old time music, sewing, quilting, and shopping.  She was a long-time member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Otisco where she was involved with the women’s group and their many activities.

Adeline is survived by one sister, Ruth Mittelstadt of Waseca, and many cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Luverne Mittelstadt.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca with Rev. Scott Williams officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.  dennisfuneralhomes.com
