Harold Frank Tesch, age 94, of Waldorf, died peacefully on Friday afternoon, February 15, 2019, at Traditions of Waterville. 

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf with Rev. Michael Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Harold Frank Tesch was born on January 26, 1925, in Freedom Township, Waseca County, Minnesota at the home of his parents, Alvin “Otto” and Marie (Kluender) Tesch. Harold was baptized on February 15, 1925 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vivion Township by pastor E.H. Mueller. Harold was confirmed on May 29, 1938, at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf. He graduated in 1944 from Waldorf High School. Harold was drafted into the United States Army on December 8, 1944, serving in Germany during WWII before being honorably discharged on August 28, 1946. On October 5, 1947, Harold was united in marriage to Marie Brown at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville.

Judith DeLaFosse, age 75 of Waseca, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.

Born in Waseca on April 1, 1943, Judith Ann Lee was the daughter of Weldon and Mildred (Reistad) Cutting.  Judy attended school in Waseca and graduated with the class of 1961. Over the years she worked on and off for her father at Cutting’s Body Shop and made many acquaintances throughout town. She enjoyed baking, flower and vegetable gardening, canning, sewing, and was especially talented at embroidery.

Judy is survived by her son Robert (Kara) DeLaFosse of New Richland; grandson Lucas (Nikki) DeLaFosse of Denver, CO, granddaughter Tiffany Arnold of Rochester, step-granddaughter Alexis Wyatt of Girard, OH, granddaughter Amber Arnold of Kasson, step-granddaughter Lauren Wyatt of Boulder, CO, and granddaughter Abigail De La Fosse of New Richland; one brother, Gerald Cutting of Waseca; two nieces, Suzette and Suzanne; and one nephew, Tim.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister-in-law, Avril Cutting.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Vista Evangelical Covenant Church in rural New Richland, with Rev. Brian Schanil officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the time of the service at the church. Following the funeral service a reception with lunch will be held in the church social hall. 

Funeral services for Fern M. Nock will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Richland. Pastor Paul Andree will officiate. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, and burial will be in St. Olaf Cemetery.

Fern passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Prairie Senior Cottages in New Richland. She was 92 years old.

Fern Marzine (Guthier) was born on April 6, 1926 to Clayton and Mable (Amunrud) Guthier in Emmons, MN. Following high school, she graduated from Mankato Teachers College in 1946 with a two-year teaching certificate. She would later go back to college and get her B.S. Degree. Fern taught one year in Glenville, two years in Wells, and the rest of her 29 years teaching were in New Richland. She loved teaching and being with children.

Fern was a Sunday School Teacher, a Girl Scout Leader, and served on the Church Council at Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was also a member of the Mission Circle. Fern was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary.  When Fern wasn’t teaching or volunteering, she enjoyed growing roses and playing Bridge and Skip Bo with her friends and family.

Harlan O. Schultz, age 75, of Owatonna, passed away February 4, 2019 at Birchwood Cottages, in Owatonna.

Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday February 16, 2019 at the Brick Meger Funeral Home, friends may greet the family one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home starting at 9:30 a.m. Military honors will be provided by the Steele County Funeral Unit.

Harlan was born March 30, 1943 in Albert Lea MN, the son of Floyd and Angeline (Kuiper) Schultz. He attended high school in Alden, MN.  Harlan was enlisted in the Army in January 1965 and was honorably discharged on October 30, 1966. He spent 14 months in Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Mary Eisen on April 15, 1967 at Associated Church, Owatonna. They moved to Twin Lakes, MN and raised two children.  Harlan hauled milk for Mid-America and later worked as a Diesel Mechanic for Dairyland Power Cooperative. He was member of the city council, water and sewer department, and a volunteer fireman for Twin Lakes. He served as Twin Lakes Mayor in 1986. In 1987 moved to Wabasha MN with the transfer of his job to Dairyland Power in Alma WI. With the arrival of grandchildren, they moved to Owatonna in 1994.  Harlan started working at Cybex in 1995 until his retirement in September 2016.  

Harlan loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  Enjoyed woodworking, refinishing antique furniture, growing roses, gardening, feeding the birds, classic car shows, old tractor and farm equipment shows, going to flea markets, collecting vintage wood planes.

Memorial services for Linda M. Weckwerth, age 72, of Geneva, MN., will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Community Lutheran Church, Geneva. Rev. Dr. Kristen Venne will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Family and friends will gather from 5–7: p.m. Tuesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.  Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Linda died on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester.

Linda M. Weckwerth was born on Aug. 10, 1946 in Owatonna, MN., the daughter of Eugene and Marilyn (Jensen) Kammerer.  She attended and graduated from Ellendale High School. Linda worked for Jostens in the mid ‘60s for a short time. On Sept. 11, 1964 she was united in marriage to Richard Weckwerth in Geneva, MN. Linda worked at the Good Samaritan Center as a CNA and then as a para-professional at the Ellendale school system for over 30 years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling and riding motorcycle with Richard. The couple spent their winters in Florida. Linda loved hosting family events, such as birthdays, Thanksgiving and Christmas. She went out of her way to make everyone feel important. Her time spent with her family was very important and enjoyable.  She was involved with her grandchildren’s school activities and sporting events. Linda was a member of the Community Lutheran Church.
