Delores Mae (Grunwald) Haug was born Nov. 14, 1921. She attended country school in Ellendale, graduated from Ellendale High School and attended Mankato State College, and later graduated from ASU.

She married Douglas Haug in 1946 and shortly thereafter became the librarian at Creighton School, where she worked for 23 years. She was president of the Arizona State Library Association and president of the Maricopa County School Library Association. She was a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary and served as the Auxiliary president for three terms. She sang in the Mt. Olives Lutheran choir and later transferred her membership to All Saints Lutheran Church of Phoenix, where a Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be determined.

She was preceded in death by her husband Doug in 2003; her mother and father; numbers brothers and sisters; and verious in-laws. William Wayne Wakefield passed away at Sunrise of Roseville on March 5, 2019, at the age of 84. He was born February 12, 1935, in Hartland Township to Merle and Ardis (Ayers) Wakefield. He attended District #62 rural school and graduated salutatorian from Freeborn High School in 1953. He graduated from the University of Minnesota, then did graduate work in the field of mathematics.

In June, 1958, he married Shirley Maranda in St. Paul. He was employed in the computer industry for the entirety of his career. He worked for Boeing Company in Seattle, returning to St. Paul to work for Sperry-Rand, Univac Division—which then became Unisys—until his retirement. He spent two of these years working at the Pentagon and was involved in the NASA space program.

Wayne had a wide variety of diverse interests. He was an avid genealogist, amateur astronomer (he even built his own telescope), loved the outdoors, birdwatching, visiting National Parks, and spending time at his cabin “up north.” His passion for sports, music, and theater was evidenced by his annual season tickets to the Twins and Wild games, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, and Guthrie Theater. Wayne also loved to talk to people, often striking up conversations with anyone he met.

Memorial services for Shirley Ann Jensen will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Ellendale, MN. Pastor Randy Cirksena will officiate. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the church.

Shirley died Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Thorne Crest Retirement Center in Albert Lea, MN. She was 89 years of age.

Shirley was born May 5, 1929 in Racine, WI, the daughter of Anton “Pete” and Minna (Schatter) Axelson. She attended public school through 11th grade in Albert Lea and graduated from Ellendale High School. In 1953 she was united in marriage to Marshall Jensen at her parents’ home in Ellendale. Shirley lived in Albert Lea on Clark Street for many years before moving to Ellendale. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Ellendale and participated in the Operation Classroom Project.

Shirley worked for the Ellendale Elevator, Herter’s in Waseca, MN, the Ellendale Bank and the Standard Gas Station in Ellendale before working over 25 years in the Ellendale Public Schools.

In her free time, she enjoyed walking, riding her bike and flowers. For many years she cared for her parents and husband. After the death of her husband she traveled the world (only missing Antarctica) helping those in need.

Maynard Andrew Stenzel, age 79, of New Richland, MN, died Wednesday, March 13, 2019.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 18, 2019 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells, MN, with Fr. Matt Fasnacht officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 2-5 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN, and continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Maynard was born March 13, 1940, in Carlston Township, Freeborn County, MN, the son of Andrew P. and Cleo A. (Swehla) Stenzel. He was united in marriage to Syvilla Marie Mills, August 19, 1961 at St. Casimir Church in Wells, MN, and to this union 5 children were born. The couple enjoyed card clubs and going south in the winter to Florida. Maynard liked watching the birds, collecting stamps and coins. He spent his time mowing the lawn, raising livestock, repairing equipment, checking the crops and fishing. He loved getting together with his kids and grandkids, and you could always find him with a piece of candy. Maynard was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells.

Leah was born on January 19, 1923, in Waseca County, Minnesota, the daughter of Cyrus and Ollie (Hogenkamp) Routh. She was united in marriage to Harlan Berg on June 12, 1940, in northern Iowa, sharing more than 73 years before Harlan died in 2013. Leah and Harlan made their life on a farm near New Richland,  where they raised their family and she worked beside him. She also worked at EF Johnson in Waseca for more than 15 years. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in New Richland where she had been active with the church women's group. Throughout their life Leah and Harlan enjoyed dancing at the Eagle's Club, camping and wintered in Arizona for more than 20 years. They retired from farming in 1984, moving to Hartland and then in 2008 moved to New Richland.

Leah died peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the New Richland Care Center.

 Leah is survived by nine children: Wayne Curtis (Suzanne) Berg of Mesa, AZ, Gary Lee(Lorraine) Berg of Mesa, AZ, Kay LaVonne (Pat) Adams of Owatonna, Rodney Harlan Berg (special friend Pam) of Albert Lea, Neil Robert (Bobbi) Berg of Kirbyville, MO, Larry Dean (Mary) Berg of rural Hartland, Bruce Alan (Patty) Berg of rural New Richland, LaJean Carol (Jim) Westeng of rural Clarks Grove, Burton Dale (Connie) Berg of New Richland; 27 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren; sister: Jean (Keith) Wilkenson of Red Wing, MN,  and many nieces and nephews.
