Funeral services for Kermit D. Kalke will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Richland. The Reverend Scott Williams will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-7 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church on Sunday, as well as one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will take place at St. Peter Cemetery. Bonnerup-Friedrich Funeral Home, New Richland is assisting the family.
Kermit passed away surrounded by his family at his home on Thursday, April 21, 2016. He was 79 years old.
Juel Richard Foss, age 67, of Pagosa Springs, Colo., passed away March 19, 2016, at Hospice House in Pueblo, Colo.
Richie was born in Albert Lea, Nov. 21, 1948. He graduated from New Richland-Hartland High School in 1967, at which time he joined the Navy. Upon discharge, he attended the University of Minnesota and received a degree in forestry. Upon graduation, Richie moved to Colorado where he lived, worked and retired.
Richie was preceded in death by his parents, Sylan and Elvira (Bangert) Foss and sister, Maxine (Foss) Berg.
He is survived by his sister, Patty Foss, four nieces and their families.
A mountain side remembrance in Colorado has not yet been scheduled.

Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery, New Richland.
Lester William Wenzel died Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the New Richland Care Center. He was 86 years old.
Stuart Arnold Miller, 73 of Waseca, MN passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at his home in Waseca, MN.
Stuart is survived by his wife, Mary (Hrdlicka); sons Jon (Amy) and Jeremiah (Jaala) and daughters Lee (Mark) Blowers and Alana Adams, all of Waseca and ten grandchildren, Belle, Libby, Maurela, Bailey, Preston, Coy, Simon, Katy, Ezra and Jude. Stuart is also survived by his brothers Gene (Bonnie) and Andy (Kathy) of Waseca and sister Marlene (Kurt) Kuehl of Ketchikan, Alaska and Bend, Oregon; and many nieces and nephews.
Stuart is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Mildred Miller, and his niece in infancy.
Stuart chose not to have a funeral. He will be buried at a later date. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Barbara Jean Blowers passed away peacefully at the New Richland Care Center on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the age of 75. Barbara was born on March 1, 1941 to Louise and Elmer Weckwerth in Waseca, MN. She graduated from Waseca High School.
Jerry Rolland Millang, 67 of Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, after a battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 23 at the Freeborn American Legion in Freeborn, MN, with Pastor Scott Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Freeborn Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by Freeborn American Legion Post 552 and Wells VFW Post 1778.
Jerry was born on September 21, 1948 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Irone and Eunice (Hove) Millang. He was baptized in Fort Dodge and confirmed at United Congregational Church in Freeborn. He graduated from Freeborn High School in 1967. Jerry entered the army on May 28, 1968 and served 13 months in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on December 30, 1969.

June Lageson, of Geneva, passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. She was 74 years old. June Marie Ottesen was born at her home in Clarks Grove on April 9, 1942 to her parents, Clarence and Bernice (Hansen) Ottesen. She was raised in rural Ellendale and was a member at First Lutheran Church in Ellendale for many years. In 1949 when June was 7 years old, she had Polio and was admitted to the Sister Kenny Institute in Minneapolis.

Curtis died Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Community.
Curtis LeRoy Miller was born April 24, 1940 in Alden, the son of Serinus and Margaret (Hansen) Miller. Curtis was raised on the family farm south of Freeborn. He graduated from Freeborn High School in 1958. Curtis married Shirley Thompson on October 8, 1960 at Salem Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.
Caroline J. Prehn, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at New Richland Care Center.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. at North Waseca Lutheran Church in rural Waseca with Pastor Nancy Hansen officiating. Interment will be held at North Waseca Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Lee Emerson Bass, 81, of Owatonna, formerly of Hope, passed away April 10, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Lee was born February 10, 1935, in Westbrook, MN. He was the son of Harrison and Dorothy (Berger) Bass.
Lee graduated from Westbrook High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Lee was united in marriage to Marlys Leske on May 12, 1957, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Buffalo Lake, MN. He managed the Hope Elevator from 1960 to 1976. He later worked at various grain companies and retired from Jennie-O-Turkey Store.
Terence Austin Leonard Dosh died of Parkinson’s Thursday, April 7, 2016, believing: “Whether in life or in death we belong to God.”
Terry was born in St Paul on Nov 22, 1930, the sixth of seven children born into the loving family of Charles M and Lilly Olson Dosh.
He was nurtured in Catholic parishes and schools (St. Helena Mpls.) until he moved to St John’s in Collegeville (1944) for Prep School and University. An avid sportsman and curious, passionate student, he applied his scholarship as a social justice activist. He became a Benedictine Oblate Nov 21, 1945 (Gregory). On July 11, 1950 he joined the monastic community, receiving the name Leonard. He was ordained a priest June 1, 1957 and taught at St John’s Prep and University and St. Ben’s in St. Joseph, MN. He shared his enthusiasm and vast knowledge of history, geography and art with his students being mentored by Fr Walter Reger. He served as prefect, Oblate director and publisher of the Oblate newsletter.
The funeral service for Viola J. Klomp, 93, of New Richland, MN and formerly of Stewartville, MN, will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville with Rev. Byron Meline officiating. Burial and a committal service will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville. Mrs. Klomp died on Friday, April 8, 2016 of natural causes at the New Richland Care Center, where she had resided since December of 2010.
Viola June Lange was born on June 16, 1922 in Harmony, MN, to Friebert and Sarah (Miller) Lange. She grew up on the family farm and attended country and Harmony schools. She helped on the family farm and was employed as a clerk at the Johnson Grocery Store in Harmony.
Troy Donald Luoma, aged 49, of Hartland, MN and recently of East Hampton, CT, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his family and friends.
Troy was born in Minneapolis, MN on June 6, 1966. He graduated from New Richland High School, and subsequently joined the United States Army as a Small Arms Repairman. Troy served with the 503rd Maintenance Company in Panama and Honduras, and later as Military Police with the 18th MP Brigade in Saudi Arabia and Iraq under operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
