“He planted more than he cut.”
Paul James Thompson, age 84, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Monday November 23, 2015, due to heart complications. He had been in hospice care for fourteen days at Pathstone Living in Mankato, Minnesota.
Paul was born to Guy and Esther Thompson at home in rural Waseca County January 6, 1931. His only sibling, Roger, died in 1939 of an unknown illness. He was raised on a farm outside of New Richland, Minnesota where he attended a one room school and graduated from New Richland High School in 1949. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa in 1953. He was drafted into the US Army and served in the Counter Intelligence Corps from 1954 to 1956. He went on to earn graduate degrees from the University of Minnesota and the University of Iowa.
Clausen, Dr. Craig, age 80, of Ellendale MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family November 19. He is survived by his loving wife, Clarice, sons David (Lori) Clausen, Steven (Jean) Clausen, and Christopher (Shelly) Clausen, and grandchildren: Samantha, Dain, Adyn, Benjamin, and Anna. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Oma (Halling) Clausen of Albert Lea.
It is with great sadness that the family of Warren Arnold Wayne share the news of his death on November 13, 2015 in Lake Havasu, Arizona.
Warren was an amazing husband and father and very proud of his service in the U.S. Coast Guard in WWII. His belief in God, family, and country made him the outstanding person that he was.
He will be greatly missed by his entire family and friends.

Rosalinda Kelly, age 87, of New Richland and formerly of Waseca, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015 at New Richland Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Father Gregory Leif officiating. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca. The rosary will be said at 4 p.m. and a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Matthew C. Schlaak, age 31, of rural Sauk Centre, died unexpectedly Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the CentraCare Health Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove Lake. Rev. Philip Beyersdorf will be officiating. Interment will be in Grove Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church.
A Celebration of Life Service for Harold “Hugo” Seberson, age 78 of Windom was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 24 at the American Lutheran Church in Windom with Pastor Tim Wrenn officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Hartland, MN.
Visitation was Saturday, October 24 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the American Lutheran Church in Windom.
Harold “Hugo” Seberson passed away on Tuesday, October 20, at the Windom Area Hospital.

Verna Mae (Smith) Dixon, 92, formerly of New Richland, passed away at her home in Greensboro, N.C. on Sept. 30, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Dixon, her two sons, William Dixon Jr. and Larry Dixon; her parents Vernon and Mae Smith, and six siblings. She is survived by seven grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two daughters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Raymond Albin Peterson, age 63 of New Richland, died on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
Born in Waseca on November 2, 1951, Ray was the son of Albin and Geraldine (Bull) Peterson. He attended grade school in rural Waseca and later graduated from Waseca High School. He married Deb Bauman, and following their divorce he was later married to Cheryl Adams. Following high school he worked at Delta Truck Body in Waseca, then did masonry work for several years. He later began farming with his brother and father in Waseca County doing dairy and crop farming. He had been a very talented high school wrestler and enjoyed following wrestling throughout the rest of his life. He also enjoyed hunting deer and bear, fishing up at Leech Lake, gardening, being outdoors, canning, and spending time with his family.
Funeral services for Audrienne Y. Nelson will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at First Lutheran Church, Ellendale, MN. The Reverend Richard Sliper will officiate. Visitation will be from 5–8 p.m. on Friday at First Lutheran Church, Ellendale, and again one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will take place at First Lutheran Cemetery.
Audrienne Yvonne (Ellingson) Nelson, 92 of Ellendale MN, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Homestead Hospice House, Owatonna MN.
Memorial Services for Inez A. Ribbe, of New Richland, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 24, at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland. The Reverend Paul Andree will officiate. Interment will be in St. Olaf Cemetery. Friends may visit with family one hour before the service at the church.
Inez died on Monday, October 19, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. She was 85.
She was born on November 8, 1929, in Steele County, MN, the daughter of Otto H. and Ella M. (Hagen) Jacobson. Inez graduated from New Richland High School in 1947.
On May 27, 1950, Inez was united in marriage to Orrin Ribbe at the Pontoppidan Lutheran Church. That same year they moved to New Richland. Inez had worked as a purchasing clerk at E.F. Johnson in Waseca. Later Inez and Orrin owned and operated the NAPA Store in New Richland from 1980-1995.
