Paul James Thompson, 84

“He planted more than he cut.”

Paul James Thompson, age 84, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Monday November 23, 2015, due to heart complications. He had been in hospice care for fourteen days at Pathstone Living in Mankato, Minnesota.

 Paul was born to Guy and Esther Thompson at home in rural Waseca County January 6, 1931. His only sibling, Roger, died in 1939 of an unknown illness. He was raised on a farm outside of New Richland, Minnesota where he attended a one room school and graduated from New Richland High School in 1949. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa in 1953. He was drafted into the US Army and served in the Counter Intelligence Corps from 1954 to 1956. He went on to earn graduate degrees from the University of Minnesota and the University of Iowa.

Dr. Craig Clausen, 80

Clausen, Dr. Craig, age 80, of Ellendale MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family November 19. He is survived by his loving wife, Clarice, sons David (Lori) Clausen, Steven (Jean) Clausen, and Christopher (Shelly) Clausen, and grandchildren: Samantha, Dain, Adyn, Benjamin, and Anna.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Oma (Halling) Clausen of Albert Lea.

It is with great sadness that the family of Warren Arnold Wayne share the news of his death on November 13, 2015 in Lake Havasu, Arizona.

Warren was an amazing husband and father and very proud of his service in the U.S. Coast Guard in WWII. His belief in God, family, and country made him the outstanding person that he was.

He will be greatly missed by his entire family and friends.

Rosalinda Kelly, age 87, of New Richland and formerly of Waseca, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015 at New Richland Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Father Gregory Leif officiating. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca. The rosary will be said at 4 p.m. and a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

A Celebration of Life Service for Harold “Hugo” Seberson, age 78 of Windom was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 24 at the American Lutheran Church in Windom with Pastor Tim Wrenn officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Hartland, MN.

Visitation was Saturday, October 24 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the American Lutheran Church in Windom.

Harold “Hugo” Seberson passed away on Tuesday, October 20, at the Windom Area Hospital.

Verna Mae (Smith) Dixon, 92

Verna Mae (Smith) Dixon, 92, formerly of New Richland, passed away at her home in Greensboro, N.C. on Sept. 30, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Dixon, her two sons, William Dixon Jr. and Larry Dixon; her parents Vernon and Mae Smith, and six siblings. She is survived by seven grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two daughters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
