George Henry Wangsness, Jr., age 66, of Wells, MN, died Sunday, May 3, 2015, at St Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN following a courageous battle with lung disease. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 7, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Community Lutheran Church in Geneva, MN. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN, and continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Sarah Underwood, age 95, passed away March 31, 2015, at Traditions II, in Owatonna. Funeral service will be 11 am Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home (1603 Austin Rd.) with the Rev. Katherine Gibson Christensen presiding. There will be a one hour visitation prior to the funeral starting at 10 am. Interment will be at Owatonna Memorial Gardens.
Sarah E.O. Underwood was born July 30th 1919 just north of Leland, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Sarah (Holtan) Haugen. Her mother Sarah Haugen died shortly after her birth. Her Aunt Tilda cared for her and the household duties, while her father Peter worked the farm. A few years later Peter and Tilda married. They had a son Truman Haugen. Sarah attended school in Leland Iowa, and Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa. After college she taught Country School in rural Winnebago County. On October 1, 1939 she married C. Duane Underwood, whom she met in Forest City, Ia.
Gregory Allan Fischer, 61, of New Richland passed away April 27, 2015 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna. Greg was born May 11, 1953 in Owatonna, MN, the oldest son of Robert and Patricia Fischer. Greg graduated from Marian High School in Owatonna in 1971, and continued his education at Mankato State University with a degree in Business.
Greg married his high school sweetheart Diane (Karow) Burns in 1974, and is the proud father of their four children, Angie, Brianna, Cody and Devin. Greg had a successful 40-year career in veterinary pharmaceutical sales, most recently with Midwest Veterinary Supply. He valued deeply the many friendships he cultivated with veterinary staff across Southern Minnesota.

Peterson, Nora H., passed with peace and grace on April 20, 2015 of natural causes at the age of 96. She had been living in the Atlanta, GA area. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Russell Peterson, and her daughter, Jeanne Peterson Tukua. Nora is survived by her son, Jon Peterson, of Arizona, grandchildren Erik and Kirk Tukua of Georgia, Nate Peterson of Ohio, and Stacey Peterson Thomas of Colorado. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Ella Danea Krenke, age 91 of Waseca, died peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.
She will be sadly missed by two daughters, Darla (Larry) Kokoschke of Faribault, and Donna (Terry) Ewert of Delano; one son, Duane Krenke of Waseca; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Paul and Ella (Rudolph) Roeglin; her husband of 59 years Harvey Krenke in 2005; three brothers, Gerald Roeglin in 1991, Orville Roeglin in 2007, and Robert (Jean) Roeglin in 2013; and one sister, Helen (Walter) Suemnick in 1997.
Keith S. Edgar, 76, of Sparta, Wis., died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at his home. He was born on November 6, 1938 in Sanborn, MN to Bruce E. and Helen D. (Powers) Edgar. He grew up in Sanborn and graduated from New Richland High School in June of 1956.
Keith enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Kodiak, Alaska. Upon his discharge after six years. He then attended Mankato State for two years and drove grain truck for his father. He traveled building Coast to Coast Hardware Stores all over the U.S. He then returned to finish his schooling at Mankato State with an Industrial Arts Degree. He worked construction while he was in college. He went into trucking after school and he loved it, he retired from it because of health reasons.

Robert Joseph Blazek, 73, passed away on April 8, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Mary's Campus, Rochester, MN.
Robert was born on January 3, 1942, the son of Joseph A. and Violet A. (Jorgensen) Blazek in Steele County, MN. Robert graduated from Ellendale High School in 1960. He began working at IBM in Rochester and worked for over 30 years. On June 20, 1964, he married Antonia Cruz, and two children were born from this marriage. They were later divorced. On August 19, 1977, he married Mary Grunwald at her grandmother's house in Ellendale, MN.

Helen M. Sawyer, age 86, of Ellendale passed away Friday, April 3, 2015 at the New Richland Care Center. Helen was born on December 2, 1928 in Kenyon, MN to her parents, Selma and Palmer Berg. She left the Kenyon area at age 7 and moved to the community of Ellendale, MN, where she attended school until graduation. She became a member of First Lutheran Church in Ellendale.
Bonita June Flemming, age 87 of rural Waldorf, died peacefully with family at her side on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
Born on February 13, 1928 in Waseca, Minnesota she was the daughter of Clement and Mary (Meyer) Hasher. Bonita was baptized March 25, 1928 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato. She was later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville on March 29, 1942. Bonita attended country school, Trinity Lutheran School in Janesville and graduated from Janesville High School. She married Marvin Flemming on June 16, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. She was a homemaker and they lived on the farm near Waldorf where Marvin was born. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Waldorf.
Hilda A. Dobberstein, age 96, of Waseca, formerly of New Richland, passed away on March 20, 2015 at Lake Shore Inn care facility in Waseca.
Hilda Anna (Billing) Dobberstein was born on March 25, 1918 at the home of her parents William and Ella (Schlaak) Billing in rural New Richland, Minnesota. She was made a child of God through baptism on April 21, 1918, administered by Peter Ernest Schlutz at the German Lutheran Church in New Richland. She was confirmed on April 9, 1933 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in New Richland by Pastor Elmer Ackermann.
She attended rural School District 78 in Waseca County, graduating on June 24, 1932.
She was united in marriage to George F. Dobberstein on April 12, 1943 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in New Richland by Pastor Liekauf. This union was blessed with four children: Betty, Wayne, Gary, and Ralph.
