Funeral services for Carol Mae Raben of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2016 at the Crossroads Evangelical Free Church in Albert Lea. Pastor Jeffrey Phelps will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Carol died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center. She was 82 years of age.
Carol was born November 23, 1933 in Superior, WI, the daughter of Clayton and Mae (Nolan) Thorgeson. She graduated from Central High School in Superior, WI, and from the Superior Vocational College. On April 23, 1977 she was united in marriage to Warren Raben at the St Paul Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. Carol was a LPN working in Minneapolis and after moving to Albert Lea in 1977 she was a Home Health Nurse.
Funeral services for Iris W. Bell will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2016 at Hartland Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Reverend Shawn Stafford will officiate. Visitation will be from 2–5 p.m. on Sunday at the Hartland Evangelical Lutheran Church, as well as one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will take place at Hartland Cemetery.
Iris passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Home. She was 91 years old.

Roger died Saturday, February 6, 2016 at St Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. He was 71 years of age.
Roger was born March 1, 1944 in Waseca, MN, the son of Joseph and Alma (Sigurdson) Solberg Sr. He graduated from public high school and attended Mankato Commercial College and the Waseca Ag School for Horticulture. Roger was united in marriage to Cathy Chicos on October 25, 1961 in Mankato, MN. He was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church where he had served on Church Council and volunteered many hours on various projects.
With family at her side Mary Ann (Peterson) Knutson, age 76, died peacefully on February 2, 2016 at the Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls from a brain tumor.
She was born on May 14, 1939 at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea, MN, the eldest child of Stanley Waldemor Nathanial Peterson and Anna Mae (Jacobson) Peterson and reared to adulthood on a three-generation Minnesota Centennial Farm near New Richland, MN. She attended the one-room District 48 rural school for eight years and graduated from New Richland High school in 1957 with her desire to become a nurse. She was awarded the American Legion Citizenship Award.
Harold Beyer, age 89 of Springfield, formerly of Comfrey, died Monday, February 1, 2016, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield. Herbert Gottschalk, age 93, of Janesville passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Janesville Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville with Pastor Paul Muther officiating. Interment will be at the Janesville Cemetery with a meal to follow at church.
Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at the church on Sunday.

Diane (Punk) Jean Briggs, 61, passed January 26, 2016 at the Owatonna Homestead Hospice House.
Diane was born on May 3, 1954 in Owatonna to Lovirn and Betty (Meixner) Pogones.
She did many things through her life including being a mechanic, farming, and running a real estate appraisal business with her husband. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and horses.
She is survived by her husband Russell, sons Robert (Star), Ken (Nicole) and grandchildren Rylee and Laken, sisters JoAnne, Connie, Terry, Peggy, Linda, and brother Mark.
She was a wonderful person, wife, mother, and friend to many with a kind heart of gold. Memorials can be made to the Owatonna Homestead Hospice House or the American Cancer Society.

Kay died on Tuesday, January 19, 1916, at St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea. She was 89.
She was born on October 8, 1926, in Emmons, Minnesota the daughter of Knut and Clara (Juveland) Hovland. She graduated from Emmons High School and completed Naeve Nurses Training.
James Luke Krause, age 81 of Waseca, died on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna.
Born at his family’s home in Wilton Township, Waseca County, on February 2, 1934, James was the son of Ervin and Esther (Joecks) Krause. He was born again into his Christian life at the age of seven, and has loved the Lord with all his heart and served Him faithfully ever since. As he grew up he attended District 19 country school in rural Waseca County. On March 18, 1960 he was united in marriage to Edith “Edie” Peterson at the 1st Covenant Church in Minneapolis. Jim farmed his entire life in Wilton Township – a vocation he loved – but he had always felt that the most important crops he ever raised were his four boys. Raising his boys included a daily time for personal and family devotions. He also spent many years raising German Shepherd pups and he loved racing, taking care of cars, tractors and singing.

Vern Busho, 73, of Nisswa, MN, passed away January 18, 2016 from complications of Sarcoidosis at Essentia Health St. Joseph's Medical Center. He was born December 27, 1942 in Ellendale, MN to Robert and Virginia Busho. He attended Ellendale High School and Mankato State. Vern enjoyed his careers in teaching, retail, supper club ownership, and later in retirement kept busy with his bookkeeping business.

Thomas George David, 71, of Owatonna, died Thursday, January 7, 2016 at his home.
Tom was born April 7, 1944 in Waseca, Minnesota the son of James and Agnes (Hoffman) David. He was a 1962 graduate of Ellendale High School. He moved to Owatonna and worked at Spitzack Lumber Company. Tom was drafted into the United States Army in 1965 and was stationed one year in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1967. After returning from the service, he drove truck for Medford Distribution. In 1967, he started hauling gravel for Owatonna Aggregates and retired after over 49 years of driving truck.
