Jude Faye Arndt, 71

Judith “Judy” Arndt, age 71 of Waldorf died on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Born on February 2, 1944 in Waseca, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Eldor and Hildegarde (Krueger) Tesch. She graduated from Waldorf-Pemberton High School in 1962. She was baptized, confirmed and married at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf where she was a lifelong member. Judy married David “Ozzie” Arndt on July 5, 1963 and to this union six children were born. Judy had worked at the E.F. Johnson Co. in Waseca, Eisen’s in Waldorf and also Bird’s Eye in Waseca. She enjoyed reading, spending time on the computer and attending her grandchildren’s activities. Judy was an active member of First Lutheran Church and the Women in Mission.

Jeanette passed away at St. John’s Lutheran Home on Thursday, March 12, 2015. She was 80 years old.

Jeanette D. Mucha was born on May 10, 1934 to Andrew E. and Emelie G. (Malakowsky) Mucha in Waseca County, MN. Jeanette was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Richland. She grew up in the New Richland area with her family until 1977 when she moved to Waseca. She has been a resident of Albert Lea for the past six years.

Donald ‘Robbie’ Robinson, 83

Donald “Robbie” Ambrose Robinson, 83, of Fergus Falls, formerly of Owatonna died Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Fergus Falls Veterans Home.

Donald was born May 13, 1931 in Byron Township, Waseca County, Minnesota the son of Donald and Margaret (Collins) Robinson. There he was raised and attended school, graduating from New Richland High School in 1949. Donald entered the United States Air Force on February 7, 1951 and served during the Korean War. During that time, Donald was united in marriage to Dorothy Wodrich on December 5, 1953 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. They moved to Bryan, Texas where Donald was stationed. Donald received his honorable discharge on February 6, 1955. Following, the couple moved to Owatonna where Donald began a long career with Northwestern Bell Telephone Co.  In the late ‘50s, he was transferred to Albert Lea and there they made their home for two years. The couple later moved back to Owatonna. Dorothy died in March of 2001. Donald entered the Fergus Falls Veterans Home in 2010.

Stanley F. 'Bud' Tollefson, 86

Remembering the life of Stanley F. “Bud” Tollefson...

Funeral Services for Stanley “Bud” F. Tollefson of New Richland, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at LeSueur River Lutheran Church, rural New Richland. The Reverend Brian Gegel will officiate.  Military Honors will be accorded by the New Richland American Legion.  Interment will be in LeSueur River Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.   Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday at Friedrich Funeral Home in New Richland and one hour before the service at the church.

Bud died on Friday, March 6, 2015 at the New Richland Care Center.  He was 86.

He was born on March 11, 1928, in Waseca, Minnesota, the son of Stanley M. and Mildred (Rhode) Tollefson.  He graduated from high school with the New Richland class of 1946.  After graduation, Bud

did carpentry for a short time before he entered  the US Air Force in 1950.  He served our country for 4 years before his honorable discharge in 1954.

On April 16, 1955, he was united in marriage to Kathryn Johnson at LeSueur River Lutheran Church.

Bud and Kathryn settled on the family farm northeast of New Richland, where they farmed and raised their family.

Funeral service for Viola C. Nolte, 97, of Fairmont, MN, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Burial will follow the service at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont. Visitation is 12:30-1:30 Tuesday, March 10, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont.

Viola passed away on Thursday afternoon, March 5, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Fairmont is handling the arrangements for the family.

Viola Clarissa (Rugroden) Nolte was born on March 14, 1917 on the family farm near New Richland, MN. She was the daughter of Oscar and Clara (Knudson) Rugroden. She graduated from the 8th grade in District 42 and from New Richland High School in 1934.

On January 19, 1947 she was united in marriage to Esgar Nolte of Fairmont at the Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland, MN. To this union was born two daughters, Ingrid and Trudee.

Visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Richland, from 4-8 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2015 and again one hour prior to the service Saturday at church. Interment will be in St. Olaf Cemetery near New Richland, Mn.

Carol Reese, age 59, of New Richland, loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, daughter, teacher, and friend, passed away in the presence and warmth of her family on Wednesday, March 4.

Mardell Robinson, 86

Funeral services for Mardell Lorraine Robinson of New Richland, MN, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the All Saints Catholic Church in New Richland. Father Raul Silva officiated. Friends greeted the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, New Richland, MN.

Mardell died Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Whispering Oak in Ellendale, MN, where she had resided for the past three weeks. She was 86 years of age.

Mardell was born August 24, 1928 in Waseca, County Minnesota, the daughter of Herman J. and Mary L. (Wood) Wenzel. She was a graduate of New Richland High School. On November 12, 1947 she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Robinson at the All Saints Catholic Church in New Richland.

Mardell was an active member of the All Saints Catholic Church, member of the Catholic Daughters and the Church Guild. She worked for many years at the Pioneer Telephone Company in New Richland and was the gambling bookkeeper for the American Legion. Mardell was President of the American Legion Auxiliary from 1971-1972. She also was a Cub Scout leader.

Alice passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at the New Richland Care Center surrounded by family. She was 89 years old.

Alice B. (Rhiger) Liane was born September 24, 1925 to Holbeck and Brita (Midlang) Rhiger in Albert Lea, Minnesota. She was raised in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1943. She attended Naeve Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1947. She was in the Naeve Alumni & Nurses Club.Alice worked at the Naeve Hospital OB/GYN floor for many years. She also worked as a nurse at Waseca Hospital and finished her nursing career at the New Richland Care Center. Alice enjoyed crocheting, sewing, knitting, doing hardanger, and quilting for friends and family.

Visitation will be held 4-5:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Friday February 20, 2015 at Friedrich Funeral Home in New Richland and a visitation again one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in New Richland.

Angeline “Ang” Kent was born on September 21, 1923 at home in rural New Richland, MN to Monika (Giese) and Thomas Chicos. Ang has been a lifelong resident of the New Richland area and an active member of All Saints Catholic Church. She graduated from Freeborn High School in 1940. Ang earned a teaching degree and taught in Matawan for a few years prior to having children. Later on in life, Ang went back to school and received a bachelor’s degree from Mankato State University and returned to teaching in Freeborn, MN.

Shirley Ann Raimann, age 68, of Mapleton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2015, at the Mapleton Community Home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, February 19, 2015, at Medo Lutheran Church, Medo Township, rural Mapleton. Interment will be in Medo Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Olson–Tichenor Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Memorials preferred to Medo Lutheran Church of rural Mapleton, Epilepsy Foundation, Mapleton Community Home, or charity of donor’s choice.
