Funeral services for Dorothy E. Thompson of New Richland, MN, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the LeSueur River Lutheran Church in New Richland, MN. Pastor Brian Gegel will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the LeSueur River Lutheran Cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson died Monday evening at the Owatonna Hospital, Owatonna, MN. She was 89 years of age.
Dorothy was born July 19, 1924 in Waseca County the daughter of Palmer and Jeanette (Brecke) Hagen. She graduated from New Richland High School in 1942. On February 14, 1943 she was united in marriage to Henry O. Thompson. She lived in the New Richland area all of her life, and the past six years at Clarebridge in Owatonna.
Jon James Jacobson died on Thursday, July 25 in Stephenville TX. He was born on October 16, 1974 in Waseca, MN, the son of Robert Jacobson and the late Constance Jacobson.
He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Waseca, MN and confirmed at LeSueur River Lutheran Church in New Richland, MN. He graduated in 1993 from New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva High School. During his Junior year of high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and completed boot camp training. After his two year service, he continued his passion for the military and joined the United States Marine Corps, serving in Operation Desert Storm and Afghanistan.
Kenneth Harold Sable, 76, of Owatonna, died Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Koda Living Community.
He was born June 15, 1937 in Ellendale, Minnesota the son of Harold and Carla (Hanson) Sable. He attended Ellendale Country School. He entered the United States Navy on December 29, 1955 and was stationed aboard the USS Ticonderoga until his honorable discharge on December 5, 1959. He returned to Ellendale and married Elaine Holland. In their union they had three children, Robert, Carmen, and Renee. They later divorced. He married Patricia Pichner on May 17, 1975 at Redeemer Lutheran Church and made their home in Owatonna. Ken worked as a welder at Owatonna Manufacturing Company for 28 years, co-owned S&S Sports Supply, owned and operated Rite Buy Liquor Store in Dodge Center for 11 years, and drove school bus for the Owatonna Bus Company until his retirement.
Melvin E. Jeddeloh, age 89 of Waseca, died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at his home.
Born in Albert Lea, Minnesota on November 3, 1923, Melvin was the son of Otto and Clara (Wenzel) Jeddeloh. He attended country school in rural Waseca County before graduating from Freeborn High School in 1942. Melvin continued his education graduating from the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis. On August 22, 1945 he married Mary Lou Franzen at the LeSueur River Lutheran Church in Waseca County.
Markus Allan Misgen, 12, of Ellendale, died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Owatonna Hospital.
He was born February 23, 2001 in Owatonna the son of Mark and Sara (Degen) Misgen. Markus was a handsome boy with beautiful big blue eyes and a smile that lit up the room. He was a leader in his family and among his friends, taking charge whenever he was needed. He was a natural organizer. Markus was busy playing summer baseball with his school friends, taking swimming lessons with the goal of becoming a lifeguard, and spending time with his siblings, cousins and friends. He had the lead role in his school play, Aladdin, and played the drums in the school band. He loved music so much that he recently began taking guitar lessons.
Lorraine C. Lewer, age 87 of New Richland, died with her family by her side on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the New Richland Care Center.
Born in Rice County on October 18, 1925, Lorraine was the daughter of Alfred and Edna (Niner) Wolf. She was baptized in November 1925 at the North Morristown Trinity Lutheran Church, and was later confirmed in March 1940 at Trinity Lutheran in Faribault. Lorraine attended North Morristown Country School. Later, her family moved to Faribault where she graduated from Faribault High School. After graduating, she worked at Coast to Coast Hardware Store in Faribault.
Harriet Idalia (Miller) Swenson, age 91, of Wells, MN, died Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Parkview Care Center, Wells, MN from complications of Alzheimer’s. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Wells, MN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Pastor Tom Biatek will officiate and burial will be in Dunbar Memorial Cemetery, Minnesota Lake Township, Faribault Co., MN following the service. Margaret died Thursday evening at the New Richland Care Center in New Richland, MN. She was 87 years of age.

Harlan died on Saturday, July 6, 2013 in New Richland. He was 92.
Marvin D. Manthe, age 92 of Pemberton, died on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Pathstone Way in Mankato.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, July 14 at 4 p.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alma City, with Rev. Keith Bilitz, officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the Alma City Cemetery.

Bernard E. Bolduan of New Richland, MN passed away peacefully on July 4, 2013 at the New Richland Care Center at the age of 83. A memorial service will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in New Richland on Monday, July 8, 2013 at 1 p.m. with Reverend Scott Williams officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Military honors will be accorded by New Richland Veteran’s Organizations.

Betty Bernard died Friday, June 28 at the Ostrander Care Center after a lengthy bout with congestive heart failure. She was born Betty Lou Durfey to Phineas and Lillian Durfey in Merrill, Iowa on September 7, 1925. The family moved to Chatfield where Betty graduated from high school in 1943.
In October of that year, she married John W. Bernard, a local farmer, and took up residence on a farm in Pleasant Grove Township. Five children joined them there. John and Betty were solid partners in life and on the farm. They raised their children to be involved in school and community. They themselves led by example becoming active in school, church, and community organizations such as 4-H.
Dorothy Irene Root passed away peacefully after a long illness at her home in Canutillo, Texas January 11, 2013. Dorothy was born May 19, 1923 in New Richland Minnesota the youngest of six children (brothers Elmer, Richard, and Raymond Rosacker, sisters Elsie Boettger, and Lola Nesdahl) born to Minnie Sarah and Wilhelm Rosacker.
