Remembering the life of Vivan J. Roesler…

Funeral services for Vivian J. Roesler, 92, of New Richland, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Vista Evangelical Covenant Church, New Richland. The Reverend Steve Thompson will officiate. Interment will be in Vista Covenant Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Friedrich Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Vivian died on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at New Richland Care Center.

Adam Edwin Bahlmann, 26

Adam Edwin Bahlmann, age 26, of Waseca died on Monday, September 23, 2013 at his home.

Born on May 22, 1987 in Waseca, Minnesota. He was the son of Rebecca Mueller and Bruce Bahlmann. He graduated from Waseca High School in 2006 and from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2011 with a B.S. Degree in Exercise Science. Following his schooling, Adam worked at Target in Owatonna for a year and was currently employed at Mediacom as a dispatcher. He also worked part-time doing lawn care for Gary Owens. Adam enjoyed physical activities including weight lifting, basketball, ultimate frisbee and all sports. He also enjoyed fantasy football and watching sports on TV. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca.

Beatrice Olson, 94

The funeral service for Beatrice Olson will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1 at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Pastor Al Stoa will officiate. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 on Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea.

Beatrice Olson passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at St John’s Lutheran Home. She was 94 years old.

Beatrice was born on January 21 1919 in New Richland to Butler and Caia (Strenge) Johnson. She attended Berlin Grade School in Steele County and graduated from New Richland High School. In 1938 she was united in marriage to Chester Olson in New Richland. After marriage they farmed for a short time, and settled in Albert Lea in the late 1940s.

Funeral services for Lorretta M. Anderson, of Macomb, Illinois, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday Sept. 21, 2013 at the LeSueur River Lutheran Church in New Richland, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Brian Gegel is officiating. Burial will take place at LeSueur Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to LeSueur River Lutheran Church or Pontoppidan Lutheran Church. Friedrich Funeral Home, New Richland, is assisting the family.

Lorretta M. Anderson, age 92, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Thursday September 12, 2013 at Countryview Care Center in Macomb.

Palmer 'Spank' Granholt, 62

Palmer “Spank” Granholt, age 62, of rural Bloomer, WI, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013 after a short, courageous battle with cancer.

He was born to Palmer “Bud” and Betty (Bothum) Granholt in Albert Lea MN on August 16, 1951. He was raised on a farm in rural Glenville, MN. He married LuAnn Lee in October of 2005, making their home in Bloomer, WI.

He is survived by his wife: LuAnn; children: Mark Granholt of Scotsdale AZ; Becky of Colorado and Chad Sommer of Bloomer; granddaughters: Ashleigh, Elle and Claire Reece of Burnsville MN; mother: Betty of Albert Lea MN; brother: John (Ann) Granholt of New Auburn WI; sister: Kathy (Greg) Nelson of Glenville MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by son: Rod Sommer; father: Palmer “Bud” Granholt Sr.; brother: Ronnie; infant sister and grandparents.

Michael ‘Mike’ Bushlack, 50

In Wells, Minnesota, Michael Norman was born on Tuesday, December 4, 1962, to parents, James Edward and Lois Louise (Schulz) Bushlack. The middle of three children, Mike’s childhood years were spent growing up in New Richland, MN. With a deep passion for sports, he enjoyed playing all types of ball with the neighborhood kids. Excelling in high school sports, Mike was a multiple all-conference selection in baseball and football, as a running back. In 1981, he graduated from New Richland-Hartland High School.

Glen Gerald Beckmann, age 64, of Ellendale, MN, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at his home following a short battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Wells, MN. Visitation will be Friday night from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Vincent G. Mathews, 86

Vincent G. Mathews, most recently of South St. Paul, Minn., passed away on August 30, 2013.

He was born on September 17, 1926 in Waseca County. He was a 6th Marine Division WWII veteran and retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by brother John Mathews and sister Rita Suek. He is survived by loving wife of 57 years, Toni: children: Michael (Darlya) Mathews, Pat (Patty) Mathews, Mary (Jeff) Bradley; grandchildren, Erin, Toby, Anna, George, Mara, Charlie, Magdalena, Kris, and Lauren; brothers Paul (Ruth) and Dick (Sharon) Mathews; sisters Phyllis Peterson and Janet (Beth) Mathews; sister-in-law: Claire Mathews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 5th at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Minneapolis. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Charlotte Elaine Holland, 64

Charlotte passed away on August 26, 2013 at age 64. She was born in Sherwood, ND, on November 22, 1948 to George and Sadie (Palm) Jensen.  She attended North Dakota and Ellendale schools.  She married Roger Holland September 7, 1969 in Ellendale.  They made their home in Hartland and had a son, Paul.  Charlotte enjoyed wildlife, nature, and flowers. She made many, many trips out west to the Big Horn Mountains. She was a wonderful wife and mother and will be deeply missed. Roger and her family and friends loved her very much and always will.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and her son Paul in 2003.

Graveside services held Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. at Trenton Cemetery in Freeborn County. Everyone who needs directions to the service can meet at Hartland Community Center at 12:30 p.m. and follow the family to the service. In honor of Charlotte, a gathering of family and friends and a memorial luncheon will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Hartland Community Center.

Elsie A. Roemhildt, 91

Elsie A. Roemhildt, age 91, a long-time resident of Wilton Township, Waseca County, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at the New Richland Care Center following an extended illness. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 26, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville, with Rev. Dr. Larry Griffin, officiating. Interment will be held at St. John’s-Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Iosco Township, Waseca County. 

Visitation will be held at the Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Janesville on Sunday, August 25, from 2 to 5 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday morning. There will be a 5 p.m. prayer service at the funeral home on Sunday.
