Jon had a love for the outdoors. As a child, his passion for fishing started with his Great Uncle Paul. There were numerous fishing excursions and deer hunting adventures with many other family members. He traveled to many different rodeos to participate in successful bull riding competitions earning him the championship bull riding buckle. Many conversations revolved around the restorations of classic cars and Harleys. His contagious laugh and gift of joke telling was shared over and over again with all who knew him.
