Jon James Jacobson died on Thursday, July 25 in Stephenville TX. He was born on October 16, 1974 in Waseca, MN, the son of Robert Jacobson and the late Constance Jacobson.

He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Waseca, MN and confirmed at LeSueur River Lutheran Church in New Richland, MN. He graduated in 1993 from New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva High School. During his Junior year of high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and completed boot camp training. After his two year service, he continued his passion for the military and joined the United States Marine Corps, serving in Operation Desert Storm and Afghanistan.

Jon had a love for the outdoors. As a child, his passion for fishing started with his Great Uncle Paul. There were numerous fishing excursions and deer hunting adventures with many other family members. He traveled to many different rodeos to participate in successful bull riding competitions earning him the championship bull riding buckle. Many conversations revolved around the restorations of classic cars and Harleys. His contagious laugh and gift of joke telling was shared over and over again with all who knew him.

He resided in Stephenville, TX where he worked as a diesel mechanic and ranch hand. Jon also helped fabricate a grill on wheels that was used in grilling competitions. In his free time he loved riding his Harley. He attended Greens Creek Baptist Church, establishing many great friendships.

Jon is survived by Robert and Margie Jacobson, Sue Samudio, Dan Samudio, Alyssa (Jeff) Borchardt, Scott Neumann and Keith Neumann. His nephews and nieces: RayAnna, Zoey, Blake, Chance, Tabatha, Kristin, Nicole, Ciara and Serenity, many aunts, uncles, cousins; Weldon and Sissy Huston from TX along with many Texan buddies.

He is preceded in death by George and Helen Jacobson, Bud and Maxine Clark, Harvey and Dorothy Samudio, Great Uncle Paul Jacobson, Elmer Lambrecht and Billy Neumann.

Visitation at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 3 at LeSueur River Lutheran Church, New Richland MN. Funeral service held at 11 a.m. Interment with military honors to follow.
