Cleon L. Christenson, age 96, of Freeborn, MN, died Friday, October 15, 2021 at his home where he lived for 70 years. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN with Pastor Chris Leistra officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 4 - 7 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Katharine Elizabeth (Mathews) Felsheim, most recently of Johnston, IA, formerly of New Richland, MN, and La Crosse, WI, passed away at age 85 on Oct. 14th, 2021 at the Johnston Hospice House.
Katharine was born on February 8, 1936, in Marshalltown, IA to Everett Mathews and Ardice (Isenhart) Mathews. She earned a teaching degree at Viterbo College in La Crosse WI before going on to teach elementary school for four years in both La Crosse and Spokane, WA.
Katharine married Glenn Felsheim on December 26, 1960. The couple had 10 children. When the children were grown, she began a new career as a librarian. She enjoyed her 20 years working at the New Richland Public Library. As a devout catholic, her faith and family were the two most important things in her life. She enjoyed long walks in nature, was a voracious reader, and a lifelong learner. Katharine is survived by her 9 children, 11 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, one brother, and one sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, husband, and two sisters. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 at All Saints Catholic Church in New Richland, MN.

Bonnie Marie (Mudgett) Klemmensen, age 47, of rural New Richland, is now at peace in heaven, passing away on Tuesday morning, October 12, 2021 at her home. After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in September of 2020, she realized how much more precious faith, love and time with loved ones had become. Her children became her legacy, teaching them a hard work ethic and kindness, she was honored to be addressed as “Mosher’s Mom” or Klemmensen’s Mom”.

Arlyne Eunice Newgard, age 84, of Albert Lea, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community.
Arlyne was born on August 18, 1937 in Albert Lea, MN, the daughter of Arvid and Eva (Utpadel) Langlie. On September 3rd, 1960, Arlyne was united in marriage to Dale Newgard in Ellendale. They made their home in Albert Lea where they raised their children.

John Allan Peterson, age 83, of Hastings, passed away from blood cancer, surrounded by family in his home on September 29, 2021.
He was born on the family farm outside Waseca, MN, on August 20, 1938, to John and Esther (Hedin) Peterson. Allan attended school in New Richland, MN, through his high school graduation. He attended Gustavus Adolphus College and then enlisted in the army, serving for two years.
