Ralph Randall, 88, of Albert Lea, passed away on March 20, 2022 at the Thorne Crest Senior Living Community, Albert Lea, MN. A private family service will take place at a later date.
Ralph Nyborg Randall was born on the family farm in Summit Township, Steele County on March 27, 1933 to Cecil and Alma (Nyborg) Randall. He grew up on the farm north of Geneva, MN and graduated from Ellendale High School. After graduation he joined the Army. After his honorable discharge, he was united in marriage to Alyce Flim. Ralph worked primarily as a farmer on his family’s farm. He was a member of the Methodist Church, American Legion and the Historical Society. He enjoyed volunteering to play Santa Claus for many Christmases. Ralph was very frugal. Two of his favorite pastimes were cutting coupons and recycling cans where he made many friends. He was a great athlete and enjoyed sports, especially playing softball and basketball. He enjoyed dancing and traveling with Alyce. Ralph really enjoyed his family most of all, trips to the Dells with the grandkids and going to their sporting and other events were especially meaningful to him.

Maurice Wayne Gonitzke, age 81 of New Richland, MN, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 17, 2022 in Lake Mills, Iowa.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
Maurice Wayne Gonitzke was born on June 8, 1940 in Bottineau, North Dakota, the son of Henry and Alice (Brandt) Gonitzke. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Kramer, ND. Maurice attended and graduated from Kramer High School in 1958. He went on to graduate from Bottineau Forestry and went on to continue his education at UND in Grand Forks, ND.

Mathew G. Beckmann, 44, of Hartland, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, March 14, 2022.
Matt was born on October 20, 1977, in Albert Lea to Glen and Paulette (Zabel) Beckmann. He attended Ellendale Elementary School until the schools merged and graduated from NRHEG High School. After graduation, he attended Riverland Community College in Austin while working full time in Owatonna.
On September 1, 2001, he was united in marriage to Diana Foster, and in 2004, the two welcomed their only son, Evan. The family lived for a short time in Albert Lea, but eventually moved to Hartland. To Matt, small-town living was important and was a big part of his identity.

Eileen “Emmy” Marie (Wallin) Donovan, 66, of Hartland, MN; formerly of Salt Lake City, UT; raised in Jerome, ID; passed away March 14, 2022, in Minnesota. Eileen was born on November 16, 1955, in Jerome, ID to John William Wallin and Martha Jean (Yowell) Wallin. She graduated from Jerome High School in 1974 and then from a Radiology Technician program in Pocatello, ID that is now a part of Idaho State University. She later moved to Salt Lake City, UT and initially worked at Primary Children’s Hospital and then for thirty years for a health services company, Optum. As successful as she was in her professional achievements, the greatest impact she made was in the individual relationships she had with those around her.
She had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. She was someone you wanted to hold onto. Someone who made it hard to say goodbye.

Alyce S. Randall passed away on March 7, 2022 at ThorneCrest Retirement Center, Albert Lea, MN. A private family service will take place at a later date.
Alyce Sarah Randall was born in Geneva Township, Freeborn County on August 27, 1934 to John and Sybil (Helgeson) Flim. She grew up on a farm near Hollandale and graduated from Albert Lea High School. After her schooling, she was united in marriage to Ralph Randall. Alyce worked as a secretary at a law office in Albert Lea and at the Geneva market, but her main job was being the mother of three kids. She was a member of the PTA, the Methodist Church, and Extension Club. She volunteered as the church secretary and played piano and organ at church. Alyce enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Wisconsin Dells with her grandkids, going to the county fair, going to grandkids' activities (no matter how great the distance), baking Christmas cookies, walking with friends, and dancing with Ralph.
