Steven Carl Templin, 65, of New Richland, died Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Mayo Health Systems in Waseca after a short battle with cancer.

He was born January 13, 1957 in Mankato, Minnesota the son of Francis and Eleanor (Matz) Templin. He grew up in Mankato and graduated from Mankato East High School in 1975. He continued his education in Architectural Drafting at Mankato Technical College and worked in home design and all aspects of the building industry.

On June 15, 1988, he married Julie Rohwer at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple made their home in New Richland.

Steve enjoyed doing puzzles, outside projects, gardening, hunting, fishing and being with his four fur babies, Chole, Izzey, Molley and Flea. He was involved in the community, serving on the New Richland City Council, New Richland volunteer ambulance, Farm & City days, and helping with many other community activities. 

Steve will be greatly missed by his wife, children and his special fur babies.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Templin of New Richland; children, Christopher Templin of Lake Crystal and Brandy Templin (Bob Stevenson) of Lake Crystal; siblings, George (Joan) Templin of Mankato, Josephine (Gus) Malecha of Elm Hurst, IL and Theresa (Gary) Graff of Mankato and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Eleanor; brother, Raymond and yellow lab, Angel.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and on Friday from 10-11 a.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Michaelson Funeral Home.
