 Dr. William George Miskoff, age 94, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016, at Golden Living Center in Exclesior, Minnesota. Graveside Services were held Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at 11 a.m., at the Freeborn City Cemetery in Freeborn, Minnesota. Pastor Vicki Toutges Officiated. Military honors were accorded by the Freeborn County Honor Guard.

William George Miskoff was born on April 16, 1922, in New Richland, Minnesota. He was the son of John and Lena (Maskolov) Miskoff. William was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth. He received his education in New Richland, and was a graduate of New Richland High School Class of 1940. William furthered his education at Austin Jr. College and North Western College of Chiropractic and graduated with a Doctorate Degree in Chiropractic. 

Francis “Gene” Eugene Motl, age 92, passed away, August 19, 2016, at Prairie Manor Care Center, in Blooming Prairie. Friends may greet the family from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home (1603 Austin Road, Owatonna) and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Funeral Mass is set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Litomysl. A parish rosary will be recited at 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday. Interment will take place at the church cemetery.

Jonathan W. Schlaak, age 44 of the Padua area, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the home of his parents from complications of diabetes, which he dealt with since age seven.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove Lake with Rev. Philip Beyersdorf officiating. Family interment service will be held at a later time.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Marie L. Johnson , age 73 of Owatonna, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Owatonna Hospital following a courageous year-long battle with cancer.

Marie was born on August 12, 1943, in Waseca County, Minnesota the daughter of Raymond and Mildred (Severson) Johnson. She grew up on a farm northeast of New Richland, attended District #85 Country School and graduated from New Richland High School, class of 1961. Following her schooling, she worked as a waitress in the local café in New Richland. She then began her career at Jostens in Owatonna from which she retired  after 45 years. She was united in marriage to Delbert Johnson on December 11, 1976 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland.

Funeral services for Shirley “Joie” Somage will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the LeSueur River Lutheran Church, New Richland.  The Reverend Charles Espe will officiate.  Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 PM on Friday at Friedrich-Bonnerup Funeral Chapel, New Richland, as well as one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will take place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Emmons.

Joie Somage went to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the New Richland Care Center.  She was 79 years old.

Shirley JoAnne (Trytten) was born on August 28, 1936 at home in rural Emmons to Alfred and Emma (Nelson) Trytten.  She was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Swedish Church.  She attended rural schools through the 8th grade, and graduated from Keister High School in 1956.  She went on to attend Cosmetology School in Minneapolis.
