Elaine I. Lageson (Nee: Hjelter), passed away peacefully at the Lutheran Home in Wauwatosa on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the age of 95.
Beloved wife of the late Maynard A. Lageson and mother of Mary (George) Woolsey, Catherine (Thorin Marty deceased), and Thomas (Ann Lundberg). Loving grandmother of John and Benjamin Woolsey, Jessica and Samantha Marty, and Karen and Dominic Lageson. Further survived by brothers, Odean and John Hjelter, and other relatives and friends.
Burial will take place at First Lutheran Church Cemetery in Ellendale, MN on Monday, January 29th at 1:00 p.m.
Donations in memory of Elaine can be made to Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) or the United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF).

Funeral services for Dolores A. Olson, age 85, of Hartland, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday January 20, 2018 at Hartland Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. Shawn Stafford will officiate. Interment will be at Hartland Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. on Friday, January 19 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home in Albert Lea and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Dolores died Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Albert Lea.
Dolores Ann Olson was born June 27, 1932 in Lerdal, Minnesota, the daughter of Ernest and Pearl (Dahl) Lee. She grew up on a farm near Manchester and graduated from Freeborn High School. On December 31, 1950, Dolores was united in marriage to Leslie Miller Olson at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Hartland. They were married for 64 years when Les passed in 2015. Dolores enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a member of Hartland Evangelical Lutheran Church. She belonged to Mission Circle – Naomi Group and taught Sunday School at Cross of Glory. She was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary. Dolores enjoyed fishing in her younger years, camping, putting puzzles together, spending time with kids and grandkids. She loved to go to the casino when she could.

James “Jim” Robert Schumacher, 35, of Hollandale, died Sunday, January 7, 2018 at his residence.
He was born April 1, 1982 in Albert Lea, Minnesota the son of Kenn and Brenda (Stucky) Schumacher. He grew up on a farm in the Hollandale and Ellendale area and attended school at NRHEG. Jim worked as a cook at the truck stop in Ellendale for many years. He enjoyed stock car races with his brother, hunting, fishing, fourwheeling, snowmobiling and any outdoor activity. He enjoyed spending time with family and especially enjoyed his nieces and nephews. Jim's family and friends remember him as being "always right" even when he wasn't.
He is survived by father, Kenn (Jenne) Schumacher of Hollandale; mother, Brenda (David) Strenge of Albert Lea; brother, Nathan (Amanda) Schumacher of Blooming Prairie; sister, Carol (Joe) Schumacher of Hollandale; grandmothers, Peg Shelton of Albert Lea and Nadine Strenge of Geneva; nieces and nephews, Hailey, Kaydance, Natalie, Justin, Lexi and Ryan Schumacher and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by brother, Justin “ JT ” Schumacher; sister, Annie Hartman; grandfathers, Albert Schumacher, Neal Stucky and Dale Strenge and grandmother, Laura Rayman.

Audriene (Vanden Heuvel) Zelenski, 83, died peacefully on January 12, 2018 at St Mary’s Hospital.
Audriene was born on July 9, 1934 in Ellendale, MN to the late Harold and Reta (nee Nelson) Bunnell. She attended country school and graduated from Ellendale High School.
After High School, Audriene worked at Federated Mutual Insurance Co. in Owatonna, MN.
She married Henry (Bud) Vanden Heuvel on May 23, 1954 in Ellendale. They lived in Austin, MN and she worked part time at J.C. Penney. She also worked for the Austin Schools as a secretary for 23 years.
After her retirement, and death of her husband in 1994, she moved to Rochester. She joined the Widowed Person Service, where she made many friends and met Richard (Dick) Zelenski. Audriene and Dick were married on May 6, 2000 at St Pius X church in Rochester.
Audriene and Dick enjoyed a number of years travelling on bus trips throughout the United States and on cruise ships around the world.
Audriene was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed cross stitching, quilting, and knitting. She knitted more than 300 prayer shawls for the St Marys Hospital Volunteer program.

LeRoy Paul Kulla passed away on Dec. 28, 2017 at Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton Missouri. He was 78 years old.
LeRoy was born on May 17, 1939 in Albert Lea MN, the son of Leo and Florence Kulla. He attended school in Glenville MN.
LeRoy married Wilma Alice Manuel on Nov. 28, 1959. They lived in the New Richland area for many years where they worked and raised their three children. They moved to Cape Fair Missouri in 1995.
LeRoy enjoyed fishing, woodworking, taking care of his lawn, game shows and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed. A memorial and burial service is planned for the family at a later date.
Survivors include his three children, Carol (Gordy) Swenson of Trenton MO, Mike (Patty) Kulla of New Richland MN, JoAnn Spooner of Hartland MN, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, his mother Florence Kulla of Waseca MN, his two sisters Mary Hamson of Waseca MN, Barb (Bob) Broers of Waterville MN, sisters-in-law Jeanette Davis of Cape Fair MO, Mary (Larry) Bush of Granby MO and Loretta Manuel of Cape Fair MO.
He was preceded in death by his father Leo Kulla, his brother Robert Kulla, his wife Wilma Kulla, sisters-in-law Gwendolyn Guenther, Carol Baldwin, brothers-in-law Bernel Hamson, Paul Davis, Terry Baldwin and Douglas Guenther.
