A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, at Bonnerup Funeral Service, 2210 East Main, Albert Lea, MN. The Reverend Lee Freshour will officiate. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in LeSueur River Lutheran Cemetery, 16650 250th Avenue, New Richland, at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 10. All are welcome.
Doris was surrounded by her family as her earthly adventure ended. She is now with her personal Lord and Savior on her greatest adventure ever!!
Doris Evelyn (Sandsmark) Waltz was born November 15, 1928 on the family farm in Waseca County. She was the daughter of Oscar and Mable (Neumann) Sandsmark. Doris grew up in rural New Richland and attended country school.
Doris was baptized and confirmed at LeSueur River Lutheran Church in rural New Richland.
She was united in marriage to Dean C. Waltz in Hartland, Minnesota, on June 20, 1948; to this union the couple had eight children.

Memorial services for Charles “Bob” R. Morrison will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Reverend Dwight Netzer will officiate. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Freeborn Cemetery.
Charles “Bob” R. Morrison, age 99, died on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Albert Lea Medical Center. Bob was born on August 28, 1917 to parents Charles and Viola (Trow) Morrison and raised in Albert Lea, MN.
On November 6, 1939 Bob was united in marriage to Bernice e. Peterson in Kalispell, Montana and on their honeymoon they hunted Big Horn sheep. The couple farmed until 1944 in Freeborn County. During the war Bob took a wartime appointment with the Department of Interior at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. He ran the Government Dairy Farm at Pine Ridge, having trained at the U of M School of Agriculture in St. Paul prior to marriage. In 1948, the war was over and the Morrison family returned and Bob went to work for Pete Christensen in Freeborn.

Lawrence (Larry) Lee, age 86 of Waseca, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 3, 2017.
Lawrence was born January 20, 1931 to Elmer and Elvie (Kroeger) Lee in Waseca, Minnesota. He attended grade school at rural Waseca County school district #46 near Otisco and graduated from Waseca Central High School in 1949. Lawrence then entered the U.S. Army and served for two years. Following his honorable discharge, he worked at his father’s repair garage in Otisco. Lawrence attended DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago, IL and started a television sales and service business. He also learned to fly and spent many years as a flight instructor and corporate pilot. On July 3, 1982, he married Sandra Brink in Marshall. Lawrence was a member of Christ Community Church in Waseca, the Republican Party, Waseca Area Ham Radio Club, and served on the Waseca Airport Board. He loved flying and was very skilled at fixing things.

Alan Lucias Remington, age 65, of Wells, MN, died suddenly Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in a tragic car accident. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 7, 2017, at 2 p.m., at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells, MN, with Fr. Andrew Vogel and Father Eugene Stenzel officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Alan was born March 12, 1952 the son of Lucias and Ellen (Stam) Remington in Faribault, MN. He attended Waterville-Elysian High School, and graduated in 1970. He went on to study machining technology at Faribault Vocational Technical School. Al married Cindy Webster in 1984 and the couple later divorced. On June 26, 2002, Al married Sally Cummings in Wells, MN. Al was a man who wore many hats; he was a machinist, a mechanic, a truck driver, and a welder. He was a Waseca County Sheriff, and was the Police Chief in Waldorf. He was a materials handler for Wells Lamberts, and most recently an outside salesman for NAPA Auto Parts of Wells. Al was a member of the Holy Family Council of St. Casimir Catholic Church, and was a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus. He enjoyed fixing and creating everything and anything, “surfing” Craigslist, playing Sudoku, going to auctions and metal scrapping. Al also liked cards games, especially “Hand &Foot.”

Memorial services for Ardella Mae Simacek of Waseca, MN will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Vista Lutheran Church of New Richland, MN.Pastor Brian Gegel will officiate. Friends are invited to greet the family an hour before the service and to stay for lunch following the service at the church where they are invited to enjoy one of Ardella’s favorite meals. Interment will be in the Woodville Cemetery, Waseca, MN.
Ardella passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Mayo Clinic Heath System-Mankato Hospital. She was 80 years of age.
Ardella, oldest of seven children, was born in rural Bricelyn, MN on February 28, 1937, the daughter of Lester and Hattie (Winter) Knutson. She attended country school and graduated Kiester high school class of 1955. On November 26, 1955 she was united in marriage to Ronald Roehrs. Ardella was married to Ron for 19 years; later she married Emil Simacek on November 3, 1975.
