Doris was surrounded by her family as her earthly adventure ended. She is now with her personal Lord and Savior on her greatest adventure ever!!

Doris Evelyn (Sandsmark) Waltz was born November 15, 1928 on the family farm in Waseca County. She was the daughter of Oscar and Mable (Neumann) Sandsmark.  Doris grew up in rural New Richland and attended country school.

Doris was baptized and confirmed at LeSueur River Lutheran Church in rural New Richland.

She was united in marriage to Dean C. Waltz in Hartland, Minnesota, on June 20, 1948; to this union the couple had eight children.

Doris graduated from Mankato State University and also obtained her masters degree + 30 in elementary education.  She taught 5th grade at Lincoln Elementary School in Faribault until she retired. Doris enjoyed life on the farm with her family, especially holidays and other special events. She enjoyed watching and working with the buffalo on her farm. Doris also enjoyed: dancing to Lawrence Welk, old-time music, sewing, card playing, traveling, cooking, reading about Abraham Lincoln to her grandchildren, and listening to Billy Graham on the radio. She was a member of the North Freeborn Lutheran Church. Doris was considerate, generous, helpful, loving, caring, kind, compassionate, and would put others needs ahead of her own. She was also known for her many cooking talents and anyone who knew her would agree!

On July 17, 1977, she was united in marriage to Arza M. Palmer.

She is survived by her eight children: Daryl (Donna) Waltz, Dale (Deb) Waltz, Dalys (Diane) Waltz, Darla (Hallie) Pruitt, Dana Waltz, Dalare (John) DeLaney, Dylan (Jennifer) Waltz, and Darcy Waltz, 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous step grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren, sisters Verdell Sandsmark, Darlene Fraley, Sister-in-law Kitty Sandsmark, brothers-in-law Virgil Waltz, Harold Palmer and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother Marlin Sandsmark, daughter-in-law Lynn Waltz, brothers-in-law Jack Fraley, Dewey, James Palmer, Herman Delling, and sisters-in-law Irleen Delling, Valeria Palmer.

She is now an Angel in Heaven and will be lovingly missed, and always remembered!
