Richard “Dillie” Allen Dillemuth, 87, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at New Richland Care Center.

He was born May 30, 1932 in Faribault, Minnesota the son of John and Alvina (Steinbauer) Dillemuth. He grew up in Faribault, Northfield and Owatonna. He graduated from Owatonna High School, class of 1951. He served in the United States Air Force and upon his honorable discharge, returned to Owatonna. He was united in marriage to Carol Ann Hrdlicka on November 17, 1953, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Owatonna. Dillie worked for 20 years at Jostens in Owatonna as a jewelry inspector. He then began his own painting and staining business. In his retirement he was a caretaker at Arms Apartments until 84 years of age. Dillie entered the New Richland Care Center where he enjoyed the care he received and the friendships he made. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the American Legion and the V.F.W.  He enjoyed reading, gardening, camping, traveling, dancing, woodworking and spending time with family and friends.

Paul Clayton Solberg, age 81, of Wixom MI passed away peacefully July 23, 2019 at the home of his niece, Kathleen Hanson, in Northfield, MN. Paul was born August 3, 1937 to Edwin and Lyla (Jordahl) Solberg of rural Manchester, MN.

Paul was baptized and confirmed at the Manchester Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manchester MN. He attended Manchester’s two-room school house for 1st through 8th grade and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1955. He went to business school to study accounting.

He met Nadine White while she was teaching school in Albert Lea. They married in 1960 and moved to Pierre, SD where Nadine grew up. There Paul worked in the accounting department at the Oahe and Big Bend dams during their construction along the Missouri River. 

They later moved to Richfield, MN where daughter, Nancy and son, David were born.  During the time they lived in Richfield Paul worked for the United Way, Legal Aid Society and the St Paul Jewish Center.

His last years were spent in Wixom, MI caring for their son David during his 10-year struggle with Leukemia (David died in 2008) and later, wife Nadine (who died in 2017) who suffered health issues that included becoming paralyzed from the waist down during a hospitalization. He continued to stay living in Michigan to be close to his grandson, Zachery Solberg. 

Donna L. (Lupkes) Bergner, age 92, passed away on August 15th, 2019. She was born in Nelson, Minnesota to Mabel and Ralph Lupkes. She attended Nelson Elementary School, graduated from Alexandria High School and then attended St. Cloud Beauty College. In 1948, she married Lyle Bergner, also of Alexandria MN. They moved to St. Peter MN, where Lyle attended college and Donna ran a beauty shop. Upon Lyle's graduation, they moved to New Richland, MN where Donna owned and operated a beauty shop and raised seven children - Tom Bergner of Bemidji, MN, Pat (Bruce) Breilein of Manchester, MI, Jeri (Dwayne) Escher of Garden City, MN, Mike (Barb) Bergner, Jodi (Tom) Quiram of Alexandria, MN, Jim Bergner of San Antonio, TX, and Jill (Neil) Schlaak of New Richland, MN.

Later in life, Donna went back to school at Mankato State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She taught at Waldorf-Pemberton Schools as a Phy. Ed. teacher and coach.

Donna and Lyle spent their summers at their lake cabin in Alexandria playing golf, boating, swimming, entertaining and enjoying their expanding family. Upon her retirement she and Lyle spent their winters in Mission, TX.

Funeral service for Cordelia G. Olson will be held on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Albert Lea, MN. Rev. Michael Lilienthal and Rev. Shawn Stafford will officiate. Interment will be at Hartland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Bayview Funeral Home. Cordelia G. Olson, age 102 of Albert Lea, MN died on August 19, 2019.

Cordelia was born on March 24, 1917 in Hartland, MN. She was the daughter of Selmer and Hilda (Johnson) Gulbrandson. She attended country school in Freeborn County. She married Irvin Olson on November 21, 1934 at Hartland Lutheran Church. Together they raised their daughter and settled in rural Albert Lea. Irvin died on October 18, 1993. 

Together Cordelia and Irvin enjoyed traveling all over the United States and Norway. She liked to play cards, games, and the occasional trip to the casino. She was also a very talented baker. Most of all Cordelia loved to spend time with family and friends. 

Janet Lohberger, age 74, of Mankato, died at her home on Friday, August 9, 2019. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 15, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waldorf. Interment will be in St. Joseph Community Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, at Starkson & Steffel Funeral & Cremation Service ~ Arnoldt Chapel of Janesville.

Janet Irene Lohberger was born on September 1, 1944 in Mankato to George and Irene (Leet) Landsteiner. She grew up in rural Pemberton where she attended grade school. Janet later graduated from Waldorf-Pemberton High School with the class of 1962. On September 21, 1963 she was united in marriage to Dale Lohberger at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Mapleton. Together they made their home in rural Waldorf where they farmed and raised four children. They shared 36 years of marriage before Dale passed away on March 20, 2000. In 2004, Janet met Mayo Flegel, and they were united in marriage on May 6, 2005, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waldorf.
