A Celebration of Life Service for Larry Olsen, age 68 of Jeffers was held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12th, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers with Pastor Harvey Pederson officiating. 

Visitation was on Monday, November 11th from 5-7 p.m. at the LaCanne Family Funeral Home in Windom and also for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Larry Olsen passed away on Saturday, November 2nd at Windom Area Health.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the LaCanne Family Funeral Service in Windom.

Funeral services for Regina Irene Miller of New Richland will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in New Richland. The Reverend Scott Williams will officiate. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Friedrich-Bonnerup Funeral Home in New Richland is assisting the family.

Regina died peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 3, 2019, just 11 days before her 76th birthday. 

She was born at the Waseca Hospital on November 14, 1943 to Eldor and Irmgard (Tesch) Schoenrock.  She was baptized at the First Lutheran Church in Waldorf. Regina graduated from New Richland High School with the class of 1961.

 On April 7, 1963, Regina married O’Dean Miller at the First Lutheran Church in Waldorf. They made their home northwest of New Richland, where together they farmed and proudly raised their children on the Miller family century farm.

A dedicated farmer’s wife, Regina was organized, resourceful, and self-sufficient.  She valued hard work and lived her life as such.  In addition to raising her family, running the household, and supporting her husband, she was a 4-H leader, and enjoyed the process of maple syruping. She was a prodigious gardener who generously shared the overflowing rewards of her garden with friends, neighbors, and family! Regina will be remembered as a great steward of the earth who strove to leave the world a better place.

Betty Jane Lageson, age 91, of Faribault, died Friday, October 25, 2019 at Pleasant Manor, Faribault.

Funeral services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 5–7 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. 

Betty Jane, the daughter of Thomas and Iris (Shorey) Thompson was born on March 13, 1928 in Ellendale. She graduated from Ellendale High School.  On July 7, 1946 she was united in marriage to Gerald Lageson in Faribault. Betty was a wonderful homemaker for her family and she also worked at Coast to Coast. Betty was a woman of prayer. She was an active member of The Faribault Assembly of God Church serving as Sunday school superintendent and teacher. She loved gardening, especially flowers, photography and she was a wonderful cook.

Survivors include her children Jerry (and Jennifer) Lageson of Faribault, David (and Roxann Roberts) Lageson of Georgetown, TX, Virginia (and Reverend Ulrich) Hohm of Pittsgrove, NJ and Allen (and Arlene) Lageson of Northfield; son-in-law, Reverend Charles Hooton of Faribault; grandchildren, Jill Carlson, Jason Lageson, Jonathan Lageson, Reverend Jon (and Kelli) Hohm, Jerica (and Hector) Perez, Reverend Lauren (and Ray) Crosgrove, Leah (and Jared) Bottolfson, Brent Lageson, Reverend Christopher (and Elaine) Hooton, Tory (and Annie) Hooton and Jameson (and Heather) Hooton; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Judith Thompson of Faribault and many nieces and nephews. 

Evelyn Lee, age 79, of New Richland, died on Monday, October 28, 2019, at Seasons Hospice House in Rochester, MN from complications of ovarian cancer. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at First Lutheran Church in Ellendale, MN. Rev. Richard Sliper officiated. Burial was at First Lutheran Cemetery, Ellendale.  

Visitation was on Friday, November 1, 2019, from 5-8 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Ellendale and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.  

Evelyn was born on April 10, 1940, in Waseca, MN, the daughter of Alwin and Leona (Scholljegerdes) Helms. She grew up on the farm and learned to enjoy working outside with her family. She attended country school and Waseca Central High School, graduating in 1957. She then attended Wartburg College in Waverly, IA, graduating in 1961.  

She spent the next four and a half years working as a Regional Parish Worker for the Board of American Missions of the American Lutheran Church. She worked in 20 towns in the western US, helping build new congregations in 8 states, stretching from New Mexico to Alaska.  

On August 6, 1966, she married Jerome Lee and spent the next 49 years working with her husband on the Lee family farm near Beaver Lake. Evelyn was a long-time member of First Lutheran Church in Ellendale and was involved in many activities over the years.  

Rose Ann Mangskau, aged 90, of Albert Lea, Minnesota (formerly of rural Ellendale), died on Thursday, October 17, 2019, at the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Austin, surrounded by her family and friends.

Rose Ann (Anderson) Mangskau was born on February 23, 1929, to Eddie Joseph Anderson and Margaret Therese (Callahan) Anderson at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea. She attended Farry School, District 90, a one-room school, for grades one through seven. Because she started school one year late due to illness, her seventh grade teacher said that if she could pass the eighth grade test she could start ninth grade with kids her age next year. She passed the test and started ninth grade the following year at Ellendale High School (EHS) where she was the treasurer of the activity fund and worked on the annual and paper staff. She graduated from EHS in 1947.

On September 19, 1948, she married Alan Mangskau. They were inseparable best friends who worked side by side in all things, including farming, housework, baking, church work, and raising children and grandchildren.
