LeRoy (Lee) Truman Storby of Waseca, MN passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the age of 92. Lee was born in Lake Mills, Iowa to Elmer and Tena (Kvale) Storby on October 14, 1927. He graduated from Lake Mills High School and served his country during World War II from September 1946 to December 1947 as a Sergeant and Paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division stationed in Japan.
Following his honorable discharge, he attended Luther College where he was quarterback and co-captain of the football team, graduating in 1952. It was at Luther where he met his wife Jacqueline Miller and they were married on June 12, 1954 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in La Crosse, WI. Together they lived in Truman, MN before moving to Waseca in 1964.
Lee earned a BA degree in Social Studies, Physical Education and Health from Luther and an MS degree in Physical Education and Health from Mankato State University. Lee was a social studies, physical education, health teacher and driver’s education instructor for over 35 years. He was head football and track coach and assistant basketball coach while in Truman and head football and golf coach in Waseca.
Lee was a fifty-five year member of Lakeside Golf Club where he served on the board, Grace Lutheran Church where he served on the council, American Legion Post 228, Lions Club and a lifetime member of VFW Post 1642.

Lois Leona Olsen, 87, formerly of New Richland, passed away Monday June 15, 2020 at the New Perspective Senior Living in Mankato.
Funeral Service will be Friday, June 19 at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church of Waldorf. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Interment will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery of Waldorf. Friedrich-Bonnerup Funeral Service is assisting the family. www.BonnerupFuneralService.com
Lois was born on September 20, 1932 to Herbert and Leona (Simmons) Kroeger in Waseca County and graduated from New Richland High School with the class of 1950.
On June 28, 1950 Lois married Herman Olsen, and together raised their family on the farm in the New Richland area.
Lois worked for Brown Printing and retired from the New Richland Care Center after 25 years of working. She continued volunteering at the care center many years after retiring.
Being with family was the most important to Lois, from her grandchildren to great-grandchildren. She even learned the art of Norwegian Hardanger after retirement and was able to give many pieces away to family and friends. Her care for others and generous spirit will be missed.

Logan David Nelson, age 22, of Adrian, died Saturday, June 13, 2020, as a result of a boating accident on Lake Shetek, near Slayton.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at St. Adrian Church, in Adrian; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Adrian Church, in Adrian. Burial will be in the Adrian Cemetery.

A funeral service for Norrine A. Jensen will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2020 at First Lutheran Church in Ellendale, MN. The Rev. Richard Sliper will officiate. Burial will be in First Lutheran Cemetery, Ellendale. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea, and again one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Norrine passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020 at the New Richland Care Center. She was 85 years old.
Norrine Audrey (Thompson) was born on September 29, 1934 in Steele County to Noel and Ardis (Lea) Thompson. She grew up around Beaver Lake, and graduated from Ellendale High School in 1952. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College, and her Master of Music degree from Mankato State University.
On August 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to Edwin Jensen at First Lutheran Church in Ellendale. The couple spent 65 wonderful years together.

Joel Kent Howser of Hoschton, Georgia passed away peacefully after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis on February 23, 2020, at North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.
Joel was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota, April 22, 1948, and was the youngest of two children born to the late Violet L. Howser and Dale R. Howser.
Survivors include wife Susan J. Howser, daughters Dr. Maureen Lewis (Bradley) of Tyler, Texas and Nicole Lennig (Jason) of Dacula, Georgia, and five grandchildren, Natalie Tucker, Kyle Tucker, Kiersten Lennig, Nathan Lennig and Carly Lennig and sister Marcia K. Wall (Kent).
Joel graduated in 1966 from New Richland High School, attended The University of Minnesota and completed a degree in Computer Science at Control Data Institute, Minneapolis, MN in 1968, and in 1973 he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business at The University of Oklahoma. He continued his education at The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Throughout his 47-year working career, Joel worked for Unisys, Recognition Equipment Inc., ScanOptics and FiServ. He held many managerial and Vice President positions in Development, Engineering, Software Design and Project Management.
Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, a Memorial Service for Joel will be held at a later date.
