Funeral services for Beverly I. Johannsen, age 93, will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Hartland. The Rev. Dennis Frank will officiate. Interment will be in the Hartland Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Beverly died on Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Albert Lea.

The funeral service for Milo “Bud” Carroll will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 1 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Ellendale. The Reverend Richard Sliper will officiate. Interment will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at church, as well as one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Bud passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the age of 87 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna after battling pulmonary fibrosis lung disease.

JoAnn Marvel Johnson was born August 11, 1941, to Clifford and Marvel (Myhre) Johnson in New Richland, MN. She grew up and attended school and graduated from New Richland High School. She married Theodore Keller June 25, 1960. The couple had three children. JoAnn worked at Brown Printing at the same time for over 25 years. In October of 1984, Theodore passed away. However, in 1986, JoAnn married Robert Klitzke. The couple continued to live in Waseca and later moved to Pipestone and JoAnn worked for F.E.Y. Industries making calendars and other printed supplies. In 2006 Robert also passed away. Finally, in 2008, JoAnn moved to Brandon, SD. She continued working at Hy-Vee in Sioux Falls and for SMG, the concessions at the Arena.

Long-time resident of Albert Lea, Mary Ann Dixen, age 90, passed away Saturday October 5, 2013. She had attended St. Olaf College and obtained her B.A. in economics, later returning to college at Mankato State University for her teaching credential in elementary education. She was a fourth grade teacher in Albert Lea for 20 years, retiring in 1985.
Mary Ann recognized the importance of education and continued that interest after retirement. She was instrumental in establishing the Albert Lea Area Schools Science Fair for students in grades 3 to 6 to promote interest in science, as well as serving as a judge for the students’ projects. As a former teacher she brought a valuable perspective to the School Board as a board member from 1986-1995 – including serving as chairperson.

Celebrating the life of Winn Ann Simser, age 73 of Fairmont, MN, formerly of New Richland, MN. Winn Ann passed away at home surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Monday, September 30, 2013.
Services will be held Thursday October 3, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. Visitation will be from 4-7:30 p.m. Wednesday October 2, 2013, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont and will continue one hour prior to the service Thursday at St. John Vianney Church. Interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
