Funeral services for Gerald M. Petsinger  of Ellendale, MN, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the All Saints Catholic Church in New Richland, MN. Father Willington officiated. Military honors were accorded by the New Richland Area Veterans Groups.

Gerald died on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at his home in rural Ellendale, MN. He was 71 years of age.

He was born October 11, 1942 in Redwood Falls, MN, the son of Vernon and Catherine (Kerby) Petsinger. He graduated from high school in Morton, MN. Gerald served in the US Army National Guard and Reserve and was united in marriage to Isabelle Liebl on October 10, 1964 at St Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax, MN.

Together they made their home in Redwood Falls, MN where he worked for Central By Products. In 1969 they moved to Waseca, MN where he was employed by Brown Printing until his retirement.  In 1977 they moved to rural Ellendale, MN. He was an active member of the All Saints Catholic Church in New Richland, and the New Richland American Legion. In his free time he enjoyed farming, raising livestock and making sausage.

Gerald is survived by his wife Isabelle of Ellendale, MN, children Lynette Petsinger of Washington D.C., Matthew (Becky) Petsinger of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, Daniel (Carrie) Petsinger of Ellendale, MN, James Petsinger of Ellendale, MN, and Patrick Petsinger of Ellendale, MN. There are two grandchildren Nikolas and Annabelle Petsinger. Also surviving are two sisters Carol Hopp of Olivia, MN, Joan (Gene) Blumberg of Park Rapids, MN, and one brother Duane (Sylvia) Petsinger of Appleton, WI, and aunts Florence, Francis, and Cathy,

He was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Catherine, brother Ronald, sisters Janet and Barbara, and son Timothy at birth.
