For most of their years, Mavis and Richard lived, farmed and raised their family west of Geneva.
She worked at Munsingwear, Geneva Sales Barn, Bird’s Eye and Miami Margarine, but took most pride in making her house a home and taking care of her family.
Mavis had an “open door” policy, always welcoming people into her homeand making sure they were well fed. Goulash and homemade salsa were among her specialties.
Mavis is survived by her children: Julie Roberts-Piper of Minneapolis, MN, Marcia DeVriendt of Colorado Springs, CO, Bruce Roberts of rural Ellendale, Trudy Roberts of Rochester, MN, Michael Roberts of rural Ellendale, Kimberly Roberts of Menomonie, WI; 10 grandchildren: Marissa (Phil) Bonk of W. St. Paul, MN, Morgan Piper of Minneapolis, MN, Ashley DeVriendt of Denver, CO, Shannon Roberts of Lansing, IA, Clint Roberts of Superior, WI, Trevor Roberts of Hudson, WI, Travis Roberts of Hartland, MN, Stacia Roberts of Albert Lea, Alexandra Sletten and Ryan Sletten of Menomonie, WI; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Rosella Simon of Albert Lea, Mary (Don) Blake of Albert Lea; Don Roberts and Laverne and Carol Roberts both of Albert Lea and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death her parents and her husband Richard in 1996.
Mavis will be lovingly remembered for her humor and warm and generous heart.
