A Welcome Back to School Breakfast will be held for NRHEG staff members on Tuesday, August 28. Following the breakfast a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support program will be presented to the entire staff.

The PBIS is a newly developed program, guided by six important principles, and will be implemented to improve student academic and behavior outcomes during the upcoming school year. The program will ensure all students will have access to the most effective and accurately implement instructional and behavioral practices and interventions possible.

The NRHEG school newsletter has been mailed out to all district residents. It is hoped the people of the district will read this publication carefully and take note of the many different items and. The publication contains a list of all of the names of the district administration, board of education, and teaching staff. It also contains information regarding the school Web site, school lunch and milk prices, and information regarding dropping off students for school and fall start dates for the 2012-13 school year. Elementary supply list and fall athletic calendars are also included.

The first day of school for grades 9-12 will be Tuesday, September 4. The day will begin with an assembly of all 9-12 grade students and faculty in the high school gym from 8:29 to 9:05. At 9:05, time will be given to conduct class meetings, which will include handing out registration cards, class schedules, student handbook/planners and locker assignments. At 9:50 the students will then attend an abbreviated class schedule.

Sixth and seventh-grade students will be asked to attend a one-hour orientation on Monday, August 27, beginning at 6 p.m. sharp in the school cafeteria.

The NRHEG teachers are planning a Day One Orientation for kindergarten through fifth grade. The orientation will be held Tuesday, September 4. Parents and/or guardians are asked to come to school with their child at assigned times to meet their child’s teacher in small groups.
