Sandra “Sandy” Lee Becker, 74, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the home of her granddaughter in Bothell, WA. 

Sandy was born in Monango, ND on April 19, 1941, the only child of the late Harry Feather and Ella (Goodrich) Feather. She graduated from Aberdeen, SD high school in 1959. She married James Walberg on August 13, 1960. She had three children with Jim and they divorced in 1975. She was married to Gerald “Jerry” Becker of Dell Rapids, SD from September 15, 1984 until his death in 2009.

Sandy was a loving, devoted mother, grandmother and very special great grandmother. She cherished every moment she could spend with her family and be with her grandchildren.


Glen C. Himrich, 90, died Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Golden Living Centers-Whitewater, St. Charles, MN.

Glen Coolidge Himrich was born December 13, 1924 to Edward and Emily (Sattler) Himrich in Selby, SD. Glen graduated from Selby South Dakota High School. He attended the University of Minnesota and graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in Pharmacy. Glen served in the Army in Alaska during the Korean War. He married Donna Rae Burnette on May 30, 1959 in Blooming Prairie, MN. Glen worked as a Pharmacist and owned Himrich Rexall Drug in Rochester. He also worked at Eagle Drug, the pharmacy in Olmsted Medical Clinic, Ruffalo Drug, Rochester Methodist Hospital and Held Drug in New Richland, MN. He retired in 1995. Glen enjoyed golf; accomplishing a hole in one, hunting, fishing, he was an accomplished marksman, travel, the Twins, and reading.

Jerilyn Knowlton, age 69, of Mabel, formerly of Canton, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 near Mabel from injuries received in an automobile accident.   

Jerilyn was born Oct. 15, 1945 in Preston, Minnesota to J. Wesley and Nelda (Larson) Knowlton. She attended the Prosper and Canton Schools.

Jerilyn ran the family business, the Sportsmans' Chalet, in Canton from 1975 to 1985. She was a people person and enjoyed the many jobs that she had in the hospitality industry. Her presence could light up a room and she loved to socialize and share funny stories with everyone. She was a member of the Scheie Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. 

Rosalie Gehring, age 77, died at her rural Waseca home on Sept. 2, 2015 after having been diagnosed with cancer last January. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Wilton. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18 at the Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca, and one hour before services at the church. Burial will be Saturday at St. Peter Cemetery, New Richland.

Rosalie was born Nov. 27, 1937, to Alfred and Anna (Suemnick) Schroeder of rural New Richland. She attended country schools and went on to graduate from New Richland High School in 1955. She married Orville Gehring of Rural Waseca on Dec. 11, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Wilton. Since her husband was in the military, the two of them began their family while living in various areas of the country, returning to live in Otisco in the early 1970s.  In addition to being a stay-at-home mother for a time, Rosalie also worked at the former E.F. Johnson Company, and at the New Richland Care Center for over 20 years as a nursing assistant. She was known for her gentleness and patience, and was appreciated for being a willing, consistent worker. 

Remembering the life of Lee Junior Johnson…..

Funeral services for Lee Junior Johnson, 91, of Ellendale, MN,  will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, at the First Lutheran Church in Ellendale. The Reverend Richard Sliper will officiate.  Interment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by Ellendale Veteran’s Organizations. Friends may visit with family from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Ellendale, and one hour before the service at the church.

Lee died on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Mayo Clinic Health System, Albert Lea. 

He was born on August 26, 1924, in Moulton, Iowa, the son of Lee and Belle (Lawson) Johnson.

He attended school and then as a young man he began farming.  It was war time, and he proudly served our country in the US Army Air Corps. When he returned from the war Junior returned to farming and then worked as a buttermaker in Glenville, Madison Lake, Freeborn, Bixby  and the Ellendale Creamery. Lee received certification in refrigeration and also obtained his boilers license, working for E.F. Johnson for eight years before retiring in 1987.
