Memorial Services for Inez A. Ribbe, of New Richland, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 24, at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland. The Reverend Paul Andree will officiate. Interment will be in St. Olaf Cemetery. Friends may visit with family one hour before the service at the church.

Inez died on Monday, October 19, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. She was 85.

She was born on November 8, 1929, in Steele County, MN, the daughter of Otto H. and Ella M. (Hagen) Jacobson. Inez graduated from New Richland High School in 1947.

On May 27, 1950, Inez was united in marriage to Orrin Ribbe at the Pontoppidan Lutheran Church. That same year they moved to New Richland. Inez had worked as a purchasing clerk at E.F. Johnson in Waseca. Later Inez and Orrin owned and operated the NAPA Store in New Richland from 1980-1995.

Jeppe Bremer, age 88, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, died peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2015, surrounded by his family at Ecumen Countryside, Owatonna. He was born August 21, 1927 in Ypsilanti, North Dakota, the son of Henry and Sadie (Dykstra) Bremer. Jeppe grew up and attended school in North Dakota, moving to Minnesota in 1975. He served his country in the U.S. Army late in WWII. On March 17, 1956, Jeppe and Charlotte Montanye were united in marriage in Hollandale, Minnesota. The couple raised three daughters. Jeppe was a hard-working farmer for most of his life. In his leisure time, he enjoyed reading, playing cards, and participating in sports. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Thomas Desmond Donnelly IV, Geneva, Minnesota died October 5, 2015. Tom was born on October 15, 1951 on an island just east of Ireland to Thomas and Elizabeth Donnelly.

He spent his childhood in England, Okinawa, Texas and graduated from Dugway High School in Utah where he was on the varsity teams football, basketball and golf. He studied macrobiotic cooking in Boston where he met his future and former wife Sheila O’Leary. They were married in Donegal, Ireland in 1975.  They later moved to the Blooming Prairie area where they farmed organically with draft horses raising cattle, sheep and chickens. 

Tom, or Digger, as he was affectionately known, dug graves to the top of his head at 13 different cemeteries. 

Leo Joseph Chicos, 99, formerly of West Concord, passed away in Rochester on Monday, September 28, 2015.

He was born near Hartland in Freeborn County to Peter and Agnes (Mucha) Chicos, Sr. on December 27, 1915, the sixth of 12 siblings. The family later moved to the New Richland area where Leo attended rural school. As a young man, he became a part of the CCC organization during the depression building and improving areas of Southeastern Minnesota. Later Leo moved to the Dodge Center area where he worked for family, farming with relatives.

Miles R. Wilson, age 23, of Spring Park, passed away suddenly at work September 30, 2015. He was the loving and devoted son of Frank and Sherrie Wilson. 

Miles is a 2010 graduate of Mound Westonka High School and earned his B.A. in geography at Gustavus Adolphus, graduating in 2014. Miles worked for the DNR in water conservation for three years. He is remembered for his gentle disposition, sense of humor, reliable friendship and passion for hockey. jet skiing, dirt bikes, snowmobiles and his new best friend his nine-week old puppy, Kingsley, a miniature Australian shepherd.
