Whereas, the By-the-Grace-of-God Fund allows the donor, or other identified parties, to recommend grants to organizations and projects of their choice. That donor has chosen to work behind the scenes to support the betterment of the New Richland community.
The New Richland Area Foundation fund is an opportunity for residents to be involved by giving, in small or large gifts, to work for the community with a process that is as confidential as they want to be.
"The most common donations are outright gifts, like cash or a check, although there are other ways to make a contribution, such as real estate, or a will,” said Patrice Abbe, representative for the Minnesota Community Foundation. “It is a way to give back to the community, establish a family legacy fund, and every contribution is tax deductible."
When applying for a NRAF grant, the receiver must be a non-profit organization, or a government agency under the Internal Revenue Code 501 (c) (3). In addition, the funds they are applying for must serve New Richland area residents.
"It’s a collaborative effort to build for the future," Buum said.
"We are merely a grant committee,” Gail Schmidt, NRAF Fund Representative said. “We are spreading the word, educating the community, and counting on the New Richland area residents to help us grow."
