John passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the Parkview Care Center in Wells. He was 93 years old.

John Francis Supalla was born on June 21, 1922 to George and Adeline (Paul) Supalla, in Brush Creek, MN. He attended and graduated from Delavan High School in 1939. He worked on his family farm after graduation. On November 14, 1946, he was united in marriage to Helen (Schroeder) in Easton, MN. The family moved to New Richland in 1949, where he continued to farm until 1967. He took a job with Custom Farm Service where he was the assistant manager. He later worked for Massop Electric in Mapleton where he sold Behlen grain bins and equipment for 15 years. After that, he continued his career with Winegar Brothers in Waseca as a Machinist until retiring at the age of 82.

John was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, where he sang in the church choir. He also was a member of the Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, and the Holy Name Society. When John was a young man he enjoyed playing softball and baseball. He also obtained his private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying around the Blue Earth area. He and Helen loved to dance at the local ballrooms. Later he loved to watch all the sons’ sporting events. After retirement, John made a hobby of making key chains and crosses out of brass rods. He gave away dozens of these to friends and family. John and Helen loved to travel and play cards with their friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Paul, Laurence, Charles, and Mary.

John is survived by his wife of 68 years, Helen, of New Richland; children, William Supalla and special friend Julie, of Fairmont, Mark (Sharon) Supalla, of Franklin, TN, and Brian (Mary) Supalla, of Beaverton, OR; grandchildren, Daniel, David (Amy), Andrew, Madisyn, Mark (Leah), Elizabeth (Scott), Jesse (Jonathan), Thomas, Kara, Laura, and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Flynn, Jude, and Vesper; a sister, Anne (Jay) Theder, of Dallas, TX; as well as many other loving family and friends.

Blessed be his memory…
