In 1954, Rock married Ardis Liudahl, daughter of E. Norman Liudahl and Geoline (Hillestad) Liudahl of Maddock, ND.
Rock and Ardis moved from CO to MN and made their home in Waseca. He worked for EF Johnson Co. He earned a Business degree from Mankato State University, Mankato, MN. In 1974 he built the Cable TV system in Waseca, MN. In 1986 he joined Wycliffe Associates, a ministry partner of Wycliffe Bible Translators. In 1994 he was ordained into ministry and in 1997 he was licensed to preach in the Assembly of God Denomination. He pastored a church in Plainview, MN for five years. Rock, a gifted writer, published “The Dawn of New Life.” In 2004 he retired and made his home in rural Hartland, MN.
Rock leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 60 years, Ardis, two daughters: Bethany (Mike) Wallin of Hartland, Cathy (Mike) Courson of Gainesville, FL; grandchildren: Brittany (David) McGee of Memphis, TN, Brooke (Isaiah) Lundberg of Hartland, MN, Lee Wallin of Hartland, MN, Chelsea Courson of Washington, D.C., Micah Courson of Gainesville, FL, Lauren (James) Long of St. Petersburg, FL, Brendon Courson of St. Petersburg, FL, Mackenzie Courson of Gainesville, FL; great-grandchildren: Selah, Aria, and Hayden Lundberg, Zyen McGee; sisters and brothers: Mary Pat Erck, James (Lovey) Leier, Dorothy (Reuben) Brown, Eunice (Louis) Weber, Karen Sage, Curtis (Bev) Leier, Dennis (Sylvia) Leier, Terry Leier, Nancy (Jonathan) Hortman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Glenn (Carole) Liudahl, Les (Judy) Liudahl, Lila (Roger) Diemert, and many nieces and nephews.
Rock was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald Leier and his wife Karen, brothers-in-law Nick Erck and Bob Sage.
Rock will be lovingly missed. He had gift for teaching God’s word, and was greatly loved by his family and friends.
