Did the NRHEG girls’ track and field team miss Carlie Wagner last week?

Do we need to ask?

With Wagner sidelined due to hamstring tightness, the Panthers competed in a pair of meets, taking seventh among eight schools at Maple River Tuesday and third out of five at Blue Earth Area Friday.

Hailey Schuller was the leader at Maple River, taking third in the 100 and 300 hurdles. She joined Abby Wacholz, Marnie Wagner and Taylar Tieskotter for fourth in the 4x100 relay.

“Hailey had a nice improvement in the 300s,” said coach Duey Ferber. “We saw some good things. Some times are coming down.”

Other NRHEG places: Emily Eder, fourth, shot put; 4x200, fourth (Maddie Wagner, Gretchen Ramaker, Marnie Wagner, Tieskotter); Maddie Wagner, fifth, 100; Ramaker, fifth, 200; Kelly Harden, fifth, 800; Wacholz, fifth, triple jump.

BEA won with 119 points, followed by Maple River with 88, Sleepy Eye 78, USC/AC 69.5, LCWM/N 66, Madelia-Truman 63, NRHEG 41.5, MVL 33.

The Panthers had three firsts Friday, two by Schuller, who won the long jump and 100 hurdles. She was second in the 300 hurdles. Wagner, Wagner, Ramaker and Shanna Stencel were first in the 4x200.

Other places: Kelly Harden, second, 800 and fourth, 400; 4x400, second (Harden, Wacholz, Wagner, Wagner); Ramaker, third, 100 and fourth, 200; Maddie Wagner, third, high jump; Marnie Wagner, third, high jump (tie); Wacholz, third, triple jump; Eder, third, shot put; Katharine Lewer, fouth, 3200 and fifth, 1600; Tieskotte, fifth, long jump.

Team scores: BEA 112, MCW 76, NRHEG 72, MT/GHEC/ML 58.5, LWEM/N 56.

“Hailey Schuller had quite a day,” said Ferber. “We finally had beautiful weather.”
