Mary was born on her family farm on August 13, 1912 in Summit Township the daughter of Peter and Caroline (Wacek) Rysavy. Mary attended country school in District 51 in rural Steele County. She was united in marriage to Edward Haberman on June 25, 1940 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Litomysl. The couple farmed on Mary’s family farm raising four children. Mary worked in all aspects of the farm as well as a homemaker. She loved raising poultry and working with the horses on the farm. She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity at Litomysl, St. Jane/Frances guild. Life interests include gardening, canning, cooking, baking buchty, dancing, old time music, playing cards and helping with the annual church festival. Her greatest joy was entertaining family and friends in her home and when you left her house you never left hungry. She enjoyed attending area church dinners with her special friend Elaine Wondra. Mary’s family was her greatest joy in life. She will be remembered as a kind gentle lady and was an example of hard work and generosity and will be greatly missed by her family.
Mary is survived by her children Meinard (Janice) Haberman, Robert “Bobby Joe” (Connie) Haberman, Edward “Eddie” (Nelda) Haberman all of Blooming Prairie and Mary Alice (Ron) DeShanne of Ellendale; 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and six great-great Grandchildren; one brother Peter (Leona) Rysavy of Owatonna; and sisters-in-law Otilla Anderson, Hazel Rysavy, and Zenobia Haberman. She is preceded in death by husband Edward in 1990; three brothers Frank, Joseph and Robert Rysavy, and one great grandchild Shannon Haberman.
