Many city residents also brought items for the community bake sale. Those who braved the weather enjoyed the meal and also took advantage of the items brought for the bake sale.
Initial plans included a number of things for the kids, including hula hoop and bean bag contests, along with drawings for prizes. The business club had also brought in a dunk tank, but it didn't take a dunk for participants to get wet.
Heidi Wangsness was on hand to do face painting. DeeAnn Randall set up shop in a corner covered by a large blue tarp, for her musical production. Then the rains came.
Mother Nature shortened the session, but there was also a thankfulness it didn't reach the storm proportions of neighboring cities to the south and west.
The Geneva Business Club members were disappointed that the annual June Dairy Night, which has been taking place in Geneva for over 40 years, almost got rained out.
