The NRHEG High School baseball team hasn’t had a whole lot of highlights this spring, but the Panthers packed about a season’s worth into Tuesday, May 14’s Gopher Conference game at Blooming Prairie.
Sparked by senior Casey Rosacker’s grand slam, the Panthers slammed the Blossoms 17-2 in five innings.
Rosacker’s homer put an exclamation point on a fifth inning that saw the Panthers plate 12 runs.
Rosacker finished 2-for-4 with the home run and five RBIs. Brad Claycomb was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored, Noah Krell 3-for-4, Dakota Thiele 2-for-3, Nic Mangskau 2-for-4, Dillon Parpart 1-for-2 with a triple and three runs, and Johnny White 1-for-3.
Mangskau pitched a strong game, giving up two earned runs on six hits through five innings. He struck out 10 and walked three.
“Nic’s pitching performance was very good and our defense was solid,” said Panthers coach Jeff Reese. “Put all of those factors together and we played pretty well.”
