Funeral services for Doris E. Christensen, age 92, of Hartland will be held on Wednesday, April  17, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Hartland, MN. Pastor Dennis Frank will officiate. Burial will be at the Hartland Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5–7 p.m. at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com

Doris died on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center.

Doris Elaine Christensen was born on March 21, 1921 in rural Hartland the daughter of Stephen and Torina (Stensrud) Pederson. She attended rural school and graduated from New Richland High School in 1939. Doris was united in marriage to Howard Christensen on Oct. 11, 1944 at the Hartland Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker and secretary for Production Credit Association. Doris enjoyed shopping, sewing, traveling and being involved with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities. She was a member of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, the Bible study group and Ladies Aide, also the Legion Auxiliary, Red Hat Society, T.O.P.S. member, NARFE, and the Doris Club.

Survivors include her daughters; Linda (Jerry) Phillips, Bemidji, MN, Cheryl (Mike) Norton, Canby, MN, and Jodi (Brian) Wayne, Ellendale, MN; grandchildren; Jared (Heidi) Phillips, Jay (Lindsay) Phillips, Justin Phillips, Brandon (Jodi) Wayne, Missie (Sean) Engel, Kyle (Linda) Norton, Kari (Dan) Budach and Katie (Michael) Hunt and nine great-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Howard and many aunts and uncles.
