ALBERT LEA, Minn. — The fifth annual “Women’s Health Care Symposium” is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Feb. 2 at Wedgewood Cove, 2200 W. 9th St., Albert Lea.
Matthew Camp, M.D., Plastic Surgery; Jodi Schulz, M.D., OB/GYN; Judy Sibilrud, nurse practitioner, General Surgery; and Alexandra Kloster, Albert Lea Tribune and Southern Minnesota Magazine columnist, are all scheduled to present.

United Methodist Chili Cook Off set for Feb. 9
The Ellendale United Methodist Youth are hosting their 2nd annual Chili Cook Off on Saturday, Feb. 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Ellendale. Cost will be $5 for adults and $4 for children.
We are asking for cooks to enter their favorite chili recipe. Award categories include spiciest chili, original recipe, and a people's choice award.

Central Freeborn F.R.O.G. Party Feb. 9
There will be a F.R.O.G. Valentine’s Party held at Central Freeborn Lutheran Fellowship Hall. The party will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 6-9 p.m.
At 6 p.m. there will be a Pop and Pizza Fellowship followed by Norwegian Bing with prizes at 7 p.m. Then at 8 p.m., ice cream with toppings will be served as well as a signing of valentines for Sheet-Ins. Contestants sought for Miss Saint Patrick
The Irish American Club of Southern Minnesota is looking for young women to run in the Miss Saint Patrick and Miss Irish Rose Pageant.
Competition will take place on Saturday, March 9 and Saturday, March 16 as part of the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration in Janesville. Contestants must be between the ages of 16 and 18 and be of Irish heritage. Medical scholarships available
Naeve Hospital Auxiliary will award three $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the Mayo Clinic Health System Albert Lea service area that have selected the medical field as their chosen vocation.
All scholarships are provided on the basis of academic ability, leadership, commitment and character. Complete scholarship information and applications are available from counselors in area high schools or at the medical center. Applications must be returned to Kathy Leidal, Public Affairs, Mayo Clinic Health System, 404 W. Fountain St., Albert Lea, MN 56007 by March 13, 2013.
Applications will be reviewed by the Naeve Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship Committee. Those receiving scholarships will be notified in late April.
