Van/bus service to be offered in New Richland
Written by Jim LutgensDue to increase demand for local services, Waseca County Transportation Project will introduce a twice-monthly van/bus service within New Richland.
The rides would be to any local merchant such as: Wagner Foods, New Richland Drug, Morgan’s Meat Market, medical/dental/chiropractor, breakfast/lunch downtown, and visiting with friends and family. They will be able to pick up inside and outside of New Richland and people can call in advance or on the day they need a ride.
People should call at the beginning of the time slot, to ensure they will be able to go everywhere they want to go. Contact Sandy Chadderdon at (507) 835-4551 or 800-892-8644. Currently, bus routes run on the 3rd of the month unless it falls on the weekend, then the 4th, and then two weeks later. There is a donation request of $2-$3 per round trip. Rides to medical appointments may be able to be billed directly to a person’s insurance. People are encouraged to check when they call. There is also a bus to Mankato one Thursday a month. It will run on the second Thursday of the month.
