Elmer M. Tatge, age 85, of Wells, MN, died Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Parkview Care Center in Wells, MN. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 24, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells, MN. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2012 from 1-3 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Pastor Kathy Fullarton will officiate and interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

Elmer was born on August 25, 1927 in Clark Township to Henry and Lillian (Elmer) Tatge. He was united in marriage to Caroline Groskreutz on April 28, 1954, they have been happily married for 59 years. To this union four children were born. Farming was Elmer’s life. He greatly enjoyed his years on the farm. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and was on the church council for a number of years. He played accordion for parties and barn dances.  He also sang in the church choir for many years and was President of Luther League.

Elmer is survived by his wife Caroline, children, Elaine Grunzke, David (Christine) Tatge, Dale (Sandy) Tatge, all of Wells, and Carol (Ernie) Bera of Albert Lea; 12 grandchildren, Joshua, Jennifer, and Jessica Grunzke; Molly (Brian) Smith, Megan Tatge (fiancé Joel Kruger), Marshall Tatge (fiancé Erin Yokiel); Daniel (Dana) Tatge and Dianna Tatge; Lacie, Amanda, Rachel and Hailey Bera; 2 great-grandchildren Kailee and Jaxon; and a niece Nonabelle (Duane) Sippel and their family, of Albert Lea.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Bernadine (Lloyd) Parker.
