Indoor Marching Band concert Nov. 19-20

NRHEG’s 2012 Indoor Marching Band Concert is set for Monday, November 19, and Tuesday, November 20 in the high school gymnasium in New Richland.

The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. This year’s theme will include music from “The Phantom of the Opera.”


UMC Community Worship November 21

A Community Thanksgiving Service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Ellendale.  You may bring non-perishable food items for the Ellendale Area Food Shelf. Everyone is invited to attend.


Litomysl’s Turkey Bingo set for Sunday

Everyone is invited to the Annual Turkey Bingo on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church, Litomysl. Get 20 games for $3 with a free door prize. Pop and popcorn are also sold throughout the evening. Come for an enjoyable evening.

Everyone is welcome to the Annual Thanksgiving Mass and Procession of Gifts at Holy Trinity Church, Litomysl of Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.


WCAS annual meeting set for November 20

Everyone is invited to the Annual Meeting of the Waseca County Agricultural Society on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the fairgrounds in the East Gray Building (use south entrance). 

The 2013 Waseca County Free Fair will be held July 17-21.


MCHS announces holiday hours

ALBERT LEA, Minn. — In observance of the upcoming holidays, Mayo Clinic Health System announces the following facilities will be closed Nov. 22, Dec. 24 (closing at noon), Dec. 25, and Jan. 1:

• Clinic

• Eye Services and Optical Shop

• Mayo Clinic Health System Health Reach campus

• Mayo Clinic Health System in Alden, Kiester, Lake Mills, New Richland and Wells

Mayo Clinic Health System in Kiester will be also closed Dec. 28 and 31. Eye services at Mayo Clinic Health System in Wells will be closed Nov. 23; however the rest of the clinic and the optical shop will be open. The optical shop at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea will be closed Saturday, Nov. 24.

The outpatient pharmacy, located on the first floor of the medical center in Albert Lea, will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Nov. 22, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 24, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. 

Express Care, located within Albert Lea’s Hy-Vee, will be closed Nov. 22, Dec. 24 and 25, and Jan. 1. 

Urgent Care, located on the fourth floor of the clinic, is open daily 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. As always, Emergency Room services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.


'Set Memories Aglow' December 2

ALBERT LEA — Mayo Clinic Health System’s hospice program invites area residents to the “Set Memories Aglow” tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2 on the medical center’s front drive, 404 W. Fountain St. The tree will remain lit through the holiday season.

Monetary donations toward a light on the special hospice tree in memory of a loved one, friend or for someone living you wish to honor are still being accepted. Donation forms are available at KATE Radio; Hy-Vee; Mayo Clinic Health System locations in Albert Lea, including the Health Reach campus; Wells; Alden; New Richland; Kiester; Lake Mills, Iowa; or by calling the hospice program at 507-377-6393.

Hospice provides support and care for people in the last phases of terminal illness so they might live as fully and comfortably as possible.
