The Star Eagle recently received a letter from Joan (Radke) Cutajar, who resides in Australia. Joan graduated from Ellendale High School in 1965, which means in 2015 it will be the 50th anniversary of their graduation. Joan is concerned and anxious to get in touch with former classmates and to find out if anyone is doing anything to organize this historical event.
Joan saved her list of class members from the 2005 reunion and tried to contact some of them but ran into problems. She noticed from the list that many still live in Ellendale, New Richland, and areas close by and thought perhaps someone reading this can get some interest started in organizing a class reunion.
They had a successful reunion in 2005 at the old Geneva Cafe. Joan realizes her classmates are getting fewer in numbers.
"I am sure many are like me with the aches and pains in the joints are getting worse by the day," she said.
Joan plans to return to the states next year, and one of her main reasons is, hopefully, to attend her 50th class reunion. The little town is still close to her heart.
