Get ready for a big weekend in New Richland

The New Richland Farm and City Days Committee has been hard at work preparing a weekend full of a variety of things to do and see for young and old alike. The annual celebration will be held the weekend of July 8-10.

Friday, July 8

5 – 10 p.m. — J & K Rides and Concessions.

5-7 p.m. — Dunk Tank, Division Street.

5-9 p.m. — Lions Bingo in City Park.

7 p.m. — New Richland Idol “A Night on Broadway.” $4 admission. Bring your own chair. Refreshments and desserts served.

Saturday, July 9

7 – 10 a.m. — Pancake breakfast and bake sale at NRHEG School Cafeteria. Admission is $2 with Farm & City Days button, $8 without. Kids 5 and under free. Music by “Kozy” sponsored by State Bank of New Richland.

8 a.m. — 2 mile Panther Fun Run/Walk. Check-in  7 a.m. at City Park.

9 a.m. — Farm vs. City 3 Person Scramble golf tournament at Riverview Golf Course.

9 a.m.- 1 p.m. — Top 25 Antique Car Show. Main Street near City Hall. Registration 8-10 a.m.

9:30 a.m. — Horseshoe Tournament Legion Field. 9 a.m. registration at the horseshoe pits.

11 a.m. — Kiddie Parade on Wheels. Starts at City Hall. Decorate your choice of wheels; bikes, go-carts, trikes, motorized car or wagon. Games and lunch to follow.

Noon- 9 p.m. — Lions Bingo in City Park.

Noon – 9 p.m. — Dunk Tank.

Noon – 10 p.m. — J & K Rides and Concessions.

1- 4 p.m. — Public Flower Show at City Hall. Registration 9- 10:30 a.m.

1 p.m. — Kids Tractor Pull. Ash Avenue by Country Neighbors.

3 p.m. — Kids Amazing Race. Pre-register at City Hall. Ages 10-15, teams of 2, limit 14 teams.

5 p.m. — Chore Boy Race by Trapper’s Lanes. Teams of 2, limit of 12 teams. Pre-registration at Blondie’s Cafe. Bring your own chair.

8 p.m.- 12:30 a.m. — Street Dance. Music by “Shag.” Admission is $5 or free with button.

Sunday, July 10

10:30 a.m. — Community Worship Service in City Park.

11:30 a.m. — Waseca County Pork Producers pork sandwiches in City Park.

Noon- 6p.m. — J & K Rides and Concessions.

1 p.m. — 26th Annual Farm and City Days Parade.

3 – 4:30 p.m. Dunk Tank.

3 p.m. — Stix of Fury Performance in City Park.

3 – 6 p.m. — Lions Bingo- City Park.

3:15 p.m. — New Richland Idol Performance- City Park.

3:40 p.m. — Announcement of winning button numbers- City Park.

3:45 p.m. — Splatter Sisters Performance- City Park.

4 p.m. — Ice Cream Social- St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Otisco.

If you would like to bring home some bacon, there will be a “Guess the Weight of the Pig” contest for only $1 a guess. The winner gets the pig and processing at Morgan’s Meat Market.

Farm and City Days buttons are only $5 and can be purchased at many local businesses. The button will allow admission to the street dance and breakfast on Saturday for only $2, plus a chance to win cash prizes.
