The Panthers’ Rachel Collins contributed seven points in the win, while Gretchen Ramaker and Kaylie Camerer netted six each. Ryann Hagen scored four.
“We were able to get up early,” said Peterson. “We had a couple of key rebounds early on and were able to run against them. USC definitely gave us a tough battle. They rebound the ball well, and have a very strong structured offense. We had eight girls scoring, and two in double digits.”
The junior varsity won 60-29.
The Panthers traveled to Fairmont Tuesday, Feb. 10 and dropped a 68-48 nonconference decision.
Maddie Wagner led the way with 22 points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals. Marnie Wagner had six points, seven rebounds, three assists and one steal. Also scoring: Collins five, Ramaker four, Camerer four, Hagen four, Hailey Schuller three.
The JV won 33-29.
The Panthers have three upcoming home games, Feb. 19 against Southland, Feb. 20 with Bethlehem Academy and Feb. 23 against St. Peter.
