The Panthers followed the defeat at Waseca with a solid win over Maple River last Thursday.
NRHEG led 43-27 at the half, and maintained the lead by continuing to score in the second half while holding MR down.
The Wagners were in front again, Marnie racking up 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals, and Maddie making 17 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 7 steals.
Other scorers for the Panthers against Maple River were Kelli Harrington with 6 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and one steal, and Kayley Camerer, Rachel Collins and Hailey Schuller each adding 5 points.
TCU-75 NRHEG-59
Then another disappointment, putting the Panthers 1-2 after TCU defeated them Thursday 75-59. This time it was the Panthers who saw the gap widen in the second half. But the NRHEG leaders were still trying. Maddie Wagner sank 24 points with 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals and one block, while Marnie made 10 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals in the game. Sophomore Rachel Collins helped with 7 points in the game. “We need to cut down on both our fouls and our turnovers,” said coach Peterson.
