Taking second for NRHEG: 110 hurdles relay (Jamie Ulrich, Ashley Garretson, Hailey Schuller); 4x200 (Schuller, Krueger, Tayler Tieskotter, Schue); long jump (Wagner, Cole, Garretson); shot put (Amber Schmit, Maxon, Lindell); triple jump (Tieskotter, Wacholz, Ulrich); distance medley (Tieskotter, Emily Habeck, Katherine Lewer, Crabtree).
Third places: 4x800 (Habeck, Lewer, Destinee Meyer, Shantaya Olson); 3x1600 (Crystal Olson, Shantaya Olson, Meyer); 300 hurdles (Habeck, Garretson, Cole).
The NRHEG boys nearly completed a sweep for the Panthers but lost in the last event. Maple River won with 92 points. NRHEG had 86, JWP 74, WEM 55, BA 47, Blooming Prairie 40, St. Clair 39 and MSAD 35.
“I’m very proud of our boys,” said Ferber. “They left everything they had on the track.”
NRHEG claimed four firsts: 4x200 (Evan Ferber, Brian Billing, Geoff Ramaker, Hunter Eustice); shot put (Tony Wacholz, Nate Lutgens, Tyler Crabtree); triple jump (Ferber, Billing, T.J. Schiltz); discus (Wacholz, Lutgens, Crabtree).
Seconds: 4x100 (Matt Webster, Ramaker, Ferber, Eustice); pole vault (Tyler Holz, Ryan Schlaak, Cordell Peterson); 300 hurdles (Ferber, Schiltz, Billing).
Thirds: sprint medley (Billing, Ramaker, Webster, Kyle Bayerkohler); distance medley (Bayerkohler, Karter Sletten, Jade Waltz, Schiltz).
The Panthers had one fourth place, by John Cole, Tyler Schlaak and Sletten in the 3x1600.
The Panthers compete at Maple River Tuesday, April 26 and at Blue Earth Friday, April 29.
