“We ran into a few very solid teams today,” said NRHEG coach Duey Ferber. “We saw a preview of what we are going to see in some future meets. Depth is a real concern right now. We have to score more points with our younger girls.”
Sophomore T.J. Schiltz, a state cross country entrant last fall, swept the distance events for the NRHEG boys, winning the 1600 in 4:44.18 and the 3200 in 10:22.6.
“T.J. had another nice meet, separating himself from his competition,” said Ferber.
Ross Chester won the long jump at 18-2 ¼.
“Ross is jumping well,” said Ferber. “He is after the school record this year.”
Other NRHEG places: 4x200 relay, second (Chester, Geoff Ramaker, Karter Sletten, Raece Johnson); Ramaker, third, 200; Tyler Holz, fourth, pole vault; 4x100, fifth (Chester, Nate Krause, Johnson, Jade Waltz); Sletten, fifth, 800; Schiltz, fifth, triple jump; 4x800, sixth (Hans Frank, Sletten, Tyler Raimann, Waltz).
Blue Earth Area won with 133, followed by Maple River with 130, USC/AC 118, JWP 80, Martin County West 57 and NRHEG 56.
“Blue Earth and Maple River really flexed their muscles tonight,” said Ferber.
