Other events set for this weekend

Saturday, March 19 was a very good day both for weather and giving.

The New Richland Area Food Shelf collected 533 pounds of food and $608.01.

The next drive will be Saturday, March 26 for the Chili Cook Off at New Richland Liquor Store, starting at 3 p.m. Next Sunday at The Willows, there will be a $2 donation given for each brunch purchased. Blondie’s will be closed for The Willows function and invites her guests to visit The Willows.

Right now, there is a NRHEG school competition to see which school can collect the most, elementary or high school.

Of course, the NRAFS is still doing the "Mission Impossible Team" skit at the local churches.  The team is scheduled to make a performance at "Rock the Food Shelf" in Waseca on Saturday, March 26. The team will help anywhere in Waseca County to assist in getting people excited about helping others in need.

There was plenty of help for Saturday’s Fill the Truck function, with many NRAFS board members and several persons who assist at the food shelf to lend a helping hand.

Members of the board were Avis Rugroden, Ginny Roesler, Shelly Moxon, Sharon Eckart, Norm Eckart, Larry Goehring and Diane Stensel.

They also were assisted by Colton Koziolek, Jessica Stensel and Ethan Strenge.

The NRAFS thanks Wagner's for letting them set up and collect from their customers. They also extend a thank you to everyone who helped.
