In spite of the fact that there was not much snow left on the ground due to the mid-40 degree temperatures on Saturday afternoon, December 13th, Santa did manage to arrive in Geneva at 2 p.m. to greet all of the children.
Prior to his arrival about 50 kids, along with the help of many of their parents, turned out to play Bingo. Chase Simon, 8-week-old son of Travis and Stacy Simon, was the youngest one in attendance this year.

If you attended the benefit breakfast for little Isaiah Schutrop on Sunday, December 7th at the New Richland City Hall you were given as well as giving a gift. It was a big smile from a strong little boy who, along with his family, is dealing with a difficult medical situation, and thanked everyone for coming and donating to the event. The New Richland Lions Club, which numbers 31 members, were busy from 7 to 12:30 making and serving scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage, orange juice, milk and coffee to the approximately 400 hungry attendants. There were three tables filed with roughly 100 items for the bake sale. People had made and donated lefse, pies, cookies, bars, breads, candies and many other delicious items to purchase, take home and later enjoy.

NRHEG SCHOOL BOARD
By REED WALLER
Staff Writer
“It’s been a while since we’ve done a big evaluation,” began NRHEG School Board chairman Rick Schultz Monday evening at the Media Center in New Richland.
He spoke to a group of about 15 guests plus faculty and administration, gathered to participate in a discussion of the improvements to school facilities the board has been considering for the coming years.
The meeting, following a similar meeting in Ellendale the previous week, was also attended by representatives from ICS Consulting and Wold Architects, who are working with the board to create an improvement plan for the district to address a number of issues, some of them of high priority.
