In what is a very competitive conference, the marksmen of NRHEG finished third in team
competition last week, but still held onto a slim conference lead.
Gracie Luna still resides in the top female spot for conference average now joined by Keira Lenort. Ciara Stenzel’s in fourth, Abbie Viktora sixth, and Faith Phillips ninth. Nora Flatness is also in the top 25 female averages.
For the guys, Dylan Schroht is the lone top 10, shooter in fifth. Also in the top 25 are Reese Routh, Zander Flatness, and Brody Mudgett.
“Each week of competition is conducted ‘virtually’ with every team shooting at their home site and submitting their scores,” said coach Dan Sorum. “Those scores are then used to determine how many points a team earned using a ‘true team’ scoring system.”
According to Sorum, this creates a unique style of conference competition where every team is facing every other team each week and there is no starting lineup, nor is there a bench. Every athlete has the potential to contribute to the team score every week.
