Medford High School is in a rebuilding year for girls’ basketball. NRHEG is not.
It led to an easy Gopher Conference opener for the Panthers Friday, Dec. 1 in New Richland, where the home team prevailed 67-18.
“Medford is in a rebuilding year, and we were able to take advantage of this by getting all of our kids in tonight,” said NRHEG coach Onika Peterson. “Hopefully, this will help us throughout the season when we get put in other game situations.”
The Panthers led Medford 42-11 at halftime.

After hosting Waseca Tuesday, the Panthers play Winona Cotter at Maple River Friday and face Norwood-Young America at Maple River Saturday. NRHEG hosts Belle Plaine Tuesday, Dec. 12 and Randolph Friday, Dec. 15.
